Battery is a different chemistry/type and new associated power/control hardware so it may be the J1.1 issues don't exist is J1.2 (for the time being at least ).
I have active ride and 16k miles in, 100% get it if you can stomach the cost, all drive modes from comfort to more aggressive / sport are enhanced. It is most noticeable at higher speeds when driving for either comfort or gunning it. Active Ride is the best part of may J1-2 Taycan.
To clarify...
I've had a glass and metal roof Taycan, both with the thermal and sound insulating glass, no noticeable difference in reception (UK on EE network). I prefer the quieter cabin for more relaxed calls with the special glass. Saves weight too :CWL:
Impressive achievement and sounds like a lot of car for only $36k. I wonder if the battery storage that supports the 1000kW peak rate will be able to keep up at a busy charging station?
In my previous car the smart service record of milage via the PCM never matched when it was actually serviced. Dealer tried couple of times to correct it but failed so I gave up and asked for a print out of the service record.
J1 sport sound was via 1x external rear speaker and 2x internal speakers in the rear doors. J1.2 it gets piped in via the speakers, this is probably why you need to order Bose or Burmester to get it. The J1 setup sounded better and had more external noise in my experience.
August will be very busy up the west coast, pre-book your ferries for sure. I would not rely on chargers at ferry terminals, always make sure you have a back-up option or arrive with lots of spare time. There are quite a few chargers just not many fast DC, so plan around AC and use DC as a...
I have plug and charge. On my typical commutes I get c. 260-280 in winter, c. 290-310 summer. Note absolute range is highly variable driver to driver so not easy to compare, it is clear to me so far that J1.2 winter drop off is less than J1. Tonight it is +9c here and I'm seeing 285miles range.
I have noise insulated glass (had same on J1), however, the metal roof lets in more noise than the panoramic glass in my J1.
I actually thought there would be a better rear camera with J1.2 and front camera as standard. However no front camera and the same really bad rear only camera. 100%...
sport+ heats the battery when too cold and cools when it gets too hot. There is also track endurance mode where it pre-cools the battery, I've not bothered with this on road as the battery never gets that hot, it may be more useful in hot climates, I'm in Scotland.
6 months and 11k miles in my J1.2 ST Turbo on 21” Aero wheels I thought I’d share some more thoughts and experiences as a high miler. For comparison I’ve come from a J1 CT 4S on 20” Aero wheels and covered around 55k miles in it.
Range is improved, comfortably by +30% despite moving up to Turbo...
