Does anyone know the maximum bicycle wheelbase supported by this vaporware $2k rack? I have a cargo bike with a ~1400mm / 55" base. Wondering if it can handle that. Otherwise I plan to get a 2" hitch adaptor fabricated. The damn thing has been on order for four months...
You might be right about the ceramic. Maybe I will try gloss, I agree it’d be a cool highlight.
But Re: the slight brush, tell it to my 7 year old and two year old ;-)
I thought about that, but the matte doesn’t show fingerprints. They were gloss black before the film and I almost felt like I needed to wipe them every time I drove, hah.
Yeah I hear you, I also almost ended up with a Plaid because it was so hard to get this CT. But… I have a soft spot for wagons. Model S is a hatch and so I *almost* ended up there… but 600hp wagon inspired the patience. Good luck getting your hands on a Turbo. What a crazy world where you have...
Sweet. Love the color-match roof box. How’d you get it painted? Maybe this is a Europe only option… I am in the US. I want to get the Thule Vector Alpine (looks like it may be the US version of the same thing?) pained Neptune Blue but I’ve no idea how to get it done.
I also did look in to...
Ah. I put down a $5k deposit on 5/5/21, dealer (Steven’s Creek) said they had no idea when they’d get allocation, then it came in about 8 weeks later. For what it’s worth, I also had a deposit down at another dealership (Redwood City) and I kept it there ‘till October when the build from...
That’s not quite true. San Jose airport doesn’t allow Bolts to park in short term parking. For me that was a problem- my Bolt was the car I was happy to leave at that airport. My employer also disallowed Bolts in their underground parking. Quite an inconvenience.
I did as well… yellow and black. Maybe I can tolerate the HOV tags if I need that anyway. For what it’s worth, I got another new car in May 2021 and applied for the heritage plates right away. They arrived last week. Don’t hold your breath!
Nice tip on PPF under HOV tags. Had I done that on my other EV I could have swapped the blue ones to the Taycan and lived a bit on the edge. “I don’t know- they just sent me this color!”
I got 70% “Photosync IRD” on the four side windows. Yes, over thermally insulated glass. It a pretty light...
It was around ten grand including the ceramics all around and tinting four windows. This is a *very* rough number as I'd like to be respectful of both the business and myself

They do a lot of nice work. Let's just say that Taycan Turbo was not the nicest car in the shop.
Also noteworthy- the shop owner has a volcano gray Taycan sedan :-)
I used an iPhone 13 Pro to take the pics, and I adjusted nothing after the fact. Of course, there is tons of automatic adjustment that happens in the phone's software. So call it "full auto mode." As you can see from the above, though, it did bring out the in-sun and in-shade differences, and to...
Indeed, the Neptune is quite subdued. I'm not a fan of the Gentian because it's too normal of a color these days. I do like the Frozen but it's also a bit Miami for my taste. As you see, the Neptune pops out way more with the satin wrap. These pics were taken in the evening when the sun was...
Hey there! Yes I remember you from the Glovis Supreme forum. How’s your car treating you?
My plates came on 2/10, I did my pickup on about 1/10, so call it four weeks. Applied for the CAV HOV stickers as soon as the plates came. On my previous EV (purchased in may 2021) those took another 8...
I got my CT in mid January, it's a 2022 and arrived on the Glovis Supreme. Just got to 1k miles. It's been awesome so far.
I am pretty happy with how this turned out...
SatinGuard on all the Neptune Blue surfaces, plus the black door handles (to reduce fingerprints.) Clear film on all the...
This looks *great.* Do you know what film was used? "SatinGuard?"
I have Neptune Blue and it's a work in progress with the SatinGuard film right now...
More to come :-)
