Porsche Center Repair/Inspection Video Made by a Tech (Yes, Heater Failed)

Look a like dealers have very different approach to service in different countries. ’I have never got any such video from Porsche, neither have I ever got any useful documentation from any warranty repairs. It is all on their system to be seen, but I never got a copy or summary. Maybe not done...

    Electrical System Fault + 12V?

Very unusual to have the 12 volt battery depleted in such a short time as 9 days. Must have been a very unfortunate string of events, and weird stars aligning, for this yo happen. And I also thought there had been a software release to address the initial shortcomings of the battery charging...

Did an OTA software update change my car settings?

Could it be that these settings etc are linked to the profile stored on line? If I remember correctly some of the settings are also stored online, seats etc. Maybe other comfort settings as well?

    Is Porsche Connect worth it?

I could understand it that some of the Innodrive functions would have issues. Innodrive relies very much on the map material and database etc for speed limits. Unless the camera sees them. But the rest of the drive assistance should work, in my mind! My car had this from start and it will be...

Did an OTA software update change my car settings?

Even worse it is for all VW group. Hopefully no damage done, but time will tell. https://electrek.co/2024/12/30/massive-data-leak-at-volkswagen-exposes-800000-ev-drivers/

    Brake pads

12 k is probably the cost of replacing the PSCB discs? I have a feeling that is what is done at the inspection at 6 years? Porsche dealers needs to get revenue from somewhere!

Did an OTA software update change my car settings?

I do not think this is some regulations, rather a poor Porsche implementation. Our BMW i4 will start up in the settings you used the last time. If it was in comfort drive it will do that. If it was in an individual mode it will start there. Not sure where this rumour comes from??

    Outdated navigation map?

That really is a pity though the way thechatging networks are in the US. It is a US problem! The Taycan ( when it works) is a lovely car to do long trips in. Comfortable, fast and very fast charging here in Europe. I have about 80 chargers with more than 200 kW in a 80 km radius from my home...

Piwi diagnostic program for Porche Taykan

Here is where you say that you thought the service guys were joking because they had not erased any faults. You never seemed to have asked them to investigate the reason for all these faults? I am sure the service department would be able to investigate all of that, but at a cost. They surely...

Piwi diagnostic program for Porche Taykan

I am sorry but this car of yours looks like a real Dog’s Breakfast. You see a car for sale in Netherlands at a very attractive price. I guess with a private seller, certainly not a Porsche dealer and it does not seem to be a reputable dealer either. Not even a RTC guarantee (Round the Corner)...

How reliable (or unreliable) are these cars.... really ?!?

When I spoke to the sales guy to look for a Macan, my car is 4.5 years old and depreciation is 60% in his offer. We never even got to finalise the spec! Or discussing his special offer for a stock car. Brutal depreciation if I wanted to change. And it won’t be to a Porsche in that case.

Piwi diagnostic program for Porche Taykan

No I can understand that you did not get the complete diagnosis. I guess that is not what you asked for, but I think the dealer should have offered this? Look up Porsche website and you will see that their second hand cars can have had a 111 point check...

Piwi diagnostic program for Porche Taykan

Sorry for your experience with buying a Taycan. As alteady said you will not be able to just erase the fault codes. If the underlying problem has not been rectified, the message will pop up again, and rightly so. As I understood this you bought the car in Netherlands and transported it to...

How reliable (or unreliable) are these cars.... really ?!?

I envy you to have these wide roads and ample parking space. Here are two garages I park in yesterday and it was super tight. Not with the Taycan though since that would not have been able to get into any of these spaces. The problem also lies in entrance and exits to these garages. They are...

How reliable (or unreliable) are these cars.... really ?!?

What is the difference to the time you made the decision. Is it solely the width of the car? It is a wide car for sure, but cars have grown over the last years. For different reasons. Look at the Mini Cooper the seventies to one now. I can not believe we travelled 4 in that at the time? I...

    How-to Recalibrate your SoH.

Yes the car is in for all recalls, brakes, battery related, plus another one, on the 7th of January. I am only using the car for local drives at the moment, so no real good driving statistics either. Short trips only so the consumption will be all over anyhow. But touch wood, no fault messages...
