Xahhax makes a good point. As a drivers car it’s brilliant, and I’ve had no issues, but I too have a ‘22 and may have avoided some early growing pains.
As a computing device, I’ve had a few minor glitches similar to every iPhone, Mac, PC, plane, or other piece of technology I’ve ever used...
No problems with the included PMC+. It charges fine at 9600 watts for me. I feel no need to spend extra money when the included charger is working just fine.
The “awd display” was previously present in 3793* on the vehicle trip screen (center display). And absent from the left-most instrument cluster tube. My car has had this setup since delivery on June 10th.
You may be in the best position to sort this out for us. The dealer should apply the updates prior to delivery. If there are none, then perhaps 3793* is the most recent.
I do think that there may be many other control modules that may be subject update, whereas the PCM screen only shows PCM...
I have a partial answer. That charger PMC+ only has two settings 100%=40amps. 50%=20amps. Those are the only choices. If you have 32amp service, then you need to use the 50% setting.
Pushing and holding the plug button cycles through the two settings.
Sorry I can't speak to the single...
You are road tripping from where to where? Perhaps we can look at which stations are available. I've had a few issues with individual EA units, but never had a complete failure of all units.
That said, I'd still rather show up with higher charge state, and have a follow-on EA station as a...
The “regen” button is actually called the “coast mode button”. This is relevant because as others have stated, regen is always on. This button changes the behavior of coasting, and therein lies the confusion.
There are three modes 1) normal (full coasting) 2) gradual (approximates engine...
Genau makes some good points. I was shocked to learn that Tesla brake pedal never does regen. I much prefer the Taycan style of regen, and the computer doing the work of blending regen with mechanical brakes.
I get the impression that a lot of folks are confused and think that Taycan only...
Perhaps a better way of saying what I just wrote is: Taycan to EA handshake is setup without requiring you to do anything with EA.
You simply need a my Porsche account. With a credit card on file. The credit card allows EA to charge you when you exceed the 30 minute limit.
I didn't have to do anything. I showed up at my first charger 3 hours after purchase, plugged in, and it worked. Perhaps you were unlucky and plugged into an inoperative charger? I never have to push any buttons on the EA screen either. Plug in. Charge (after 90-120 seconds of waiting)...
In the U.S. for EA just plug in the charger and it'll start charging. No app required, it really couldn't be easier (it could however be a bit faster).
A few things to remember:
1) Ensure plug and charge is checked in the PCM under vehicle settings. (Caveat: This feature is on 2021 & 2022...
You could try powering down the car and disconnecting the 12v system. There are a few threads on here about doing it to fix some of the early problems from the first model year or two. Haven’t done it, but it doesn’t seem hard and if it fixes it will save you a month of thinking about it.
Try a reboot. Touch two fingers to the top right of the center display. That will initiate a reboot. Then when the engineering screen pops up touch “exit engineering mode”. Take a minute or two to reboot. If that doesn’t work???
