Just got my Tacan back from PRG Reading where it has been recovered via Porsche Assistance on Moday because of a repeatedly empty 12V battery. Alongside testing the 12V battery and car idle current drain (78mA) for several days, they also applied workshop campaign WRW1 supposedly designed to...
I’ll wait to see what PRG Reading (colocated with Porsche UK HQ) find with my 12V battery. If they claim they can’t find a problem, then i guess i’ll be forced to buy a new battery charger. I actually already have a CTEK charger for the AGM battery in my track car, but that won’t work on the...
Mine suffered the 12V battery problem over the last few weeks too.
Called Porsche Assist (the AA) the first time to get into the locked car with the mechanical key to jump the bonnet release to allow external 12V to reactivate the battery. Subsequently, I have been leaving the car unlocked...
Porsche needs to understand that they have a problem with the 12V battery in the J1.1 Taycan. If your car is afflicted with this problem, is still under warrantee and you have sufficient time, then please call Porsche Assisnace to resolve the problem. That way, Porsche should get the message…
i have one of those CTEK connectors on my track Elise. The other end of the wire has some ring connectors that can be connected to the bolt that typically holds the battery connectors to the battery itself.
Quick question for folks with CTEK maintainers: it ok to connect the CTEK when the car...
just had porsche assistance/aa power may taycan up from dead in the garage after just 4 days idle. it was plugged into the my home evse, but still the 12v battery died. not sure how to keep this thing alive. think i’ll start leaving the frunk open so i can at least easily reactivate the 12v battery.
OVO Charge Anytime is ok apart from the 1% or 2% overcharge per day after the day that the requested SoC is reached. I don’t use my Taycan everyday, so it can end up well over the requested SoC.
I‘m currently enrolled in the Power Move Flex trial, and that has made overcharging much worse...
I received the retraction also.
I asked about the apparent increase this morning in the OVO Forum, and they posted a retraction a couple of hours later. The charge used to be 10p/kWh before they lowered it last year, so hopefully, it’s just an old copy that they edited and sent out.
It does not need to sit for 24 hours. Mine was booked in from 9:30 to 17:00 absolute latest at PRG Reading. It did not get done it that time period, however, because the technician’s prior job overran…
so, what is actually being measured to get these 200KΩ readings and how are they being measured? you can’t just take a multimeter in resistance range and measure an active component like a battery; any residual charge in the battery will invalidate the reading. also, 200KΩ is still a pretty big...
Thanks for the chart. i’m off to Cognac tomorrow morning and it seems I have chosen wisely. I can use the chart to select a good return date. Hope the tunnel doesn‘t suffer from IT delays like last week.
Likely the front toe setting is incorrect either because it has been recently set badly or a front wheel(s) has been badly impacted (e.g., deep pothole impact). Get it reset at an appropriate tyre depot asap else you’ll likely get bad on the front tyres.
My vandalised Taycan took 6 weeks elapse for £29K damage. This included two replacement door frames, lots of other bits and most panels being refinished. Parts were all available essentially over night. However, no interior parts were needed. Did the cyclist damage the interior door panels? If...
Only way to resolve this was to have PRG Reading fix it. Its the second time they have had to do this on my car. I’ll not bother to get ALK FoD again especially as it doesn’t really work that well for me. They also decided to do the heater recall at the same time, so it was in over night.
Unfortunately, I knocked the drivers side manual charge port door of my Taycan while reversing out of the garage on Saturday. My excuse is that it was 05:00 in the morning and my attention was focused on the day‘s sprint competition at Goodwood Circuit,
Looking at the parts catalog on line, I...
Also note that in the UK, the speed recognition system seems to react quite poorly to overhead gantry colour on black variable speed signs on smart motorways etc. It seems to have particular difficulty distinguishing between 50 and 60, and also doesn’t seems to detect national speed limit signs...
