The one caution I have here: get a pre-purchase inspection from a shop that isn't invested in the sale.
I no longer trust CPO as a gold-standard, as I bought a low-mile CPO that ended up a track car at the Porsche Experience Center in Atlanta. The expensive brakes were cooked.
It doesn’t matter. There is no reality where buffing the paint caused a battery fire.
It was either unrelated, or some induced by some other shop accident.
I have a lot of questions as this hasn’t been my experience at all.
I don’t doubt you though.
- What PPF product was used?
- Did the PPF have any inherent UV protection?
- How long before it was replaced?
- Any protection on the bare painted surfaces, ceramic or similar?
- What color was the...

The 21-23 jump was a very incremental upgrade, and then only because I went from base to GTS.
I'd really try for a 25 if you can, the J1.2 is a lot better.
Not at all. Take it to a Porsche dealer and ask them for a “buy bid.”
Unless they don’t want the inventory they will make you an offer. It won’t be as good as the secondary market.
Was yours easily reproducible? Mine is 100% reproducible until today when I took it in, which was frustrating. Assumption here is cold car in the morning exhibits the problem, 45 mins driving with the heat on alleviates it.
Yep that sounds exactly the same.
I was thinking of a similar fix to your temporary one, jamming some kind of felt in there (preferably non adhesive) to stop the audible vibration.
Did your temp fix fail to work, or did you just want a cleaner repair? (I was thinking the felt would be out...
Here’s my deal. On cold mornings I get an irritating rattle from the oval LCD dashboard. If I pull on the right edge, it stops.
The fix here is obvious; tighten things up and/or pad with felt.
I took it in this morning to have a Porsche shop fix it and of course, it stopped happening on the...
