Can we get that wheel view in the 2020? The camera icons on the side lead to views that aren't any more useful than the low-res overhead view for trying to see if I'm about to curb an expensive wheel.
That's exactly what happens. Your car still has real brake pads, and they work by transferring a thin layer of pad material onto the rotors for friction. Since the brakes wont get a regular workout due to regen, the car forces more friction braking during the break-in period to get the pads...
Hopefully there will be a lot more than 10 parking spaces right there. People can only stay at the EA spots for 30 mins, and I know I'm not going to bother charging and then having to move the car. :)
Going 85+ mph is going to matter a lot more for range than being a Turbo S, having Mission E wheels, etc. I made 2 1000+mi trips in a Turbo with Mission E wheels, and both showed range above 220mi (I could've probably got at least 240 miles if I pushed). I was mostly at 75mph max.
Using the first couple of thousand miles of ownership probably isn't going to match long-term range... because new Taycan = floor it a LOT more often. :D
Likely it's something that's also hard on the batteries, and therefore they want to make it more effort to use. (And usage is probably tracked, like other Porsches)
You mean like with the Macan/Q5? Or the S3/GTi? Or maybe you mean all the way back to the original RS2?
Audi's been doing avants a lot longer than Porsche has. And that image is listed as speculative image, meaning someone photoshopped it to create an article.
I'd agree. Until the 2020 cars get updated to match the 2021 software, likely they aren't going to bother creating special infrastructure just for 2020.
0-60 time is the dumbest measure for anything other than a muscle car. The base Taycan with the upgraded battery is likely faster in a straight line than either of my R8's were.
There's going to be plenty of EVs out there that are eventually going to be faster than most Taycans in a straight...
I'm not even going to bother swapping the breaker to update from my 32A charger to the 40A-capable Porsche charger. The car is going to charge up overnight either way, so there's just never any need for something better. If I need more, the EA station is a mile away.
It's 50% toll with a sticker on 237 by me, and they're doing something to 101 now, and it'll probably be bad too. It takes 2 people in the car + EV to ride toll free. I think 880 might be the same.
Don't need the sticker for Express Lanes, just need the Flex CAV Fastrak transponder.
I also mailed in Jan with nothing back yet. With everything turning into Express Lanes, I may not even bother with them when they arrive. Not that they'd stick to the ceramic coating anyway :P
The GTS would be slower than the Turbo/Turbo S, but would likely get all sorts of goodies that are standard on the Turbo. It'd be priced cheaper than getting a 4S and adding on all those extra bits. Then add in a few GTS-only packages, and you have what a GTS is, which is a late-cycle sales...
BMW heavily incentivizes leases, as they like to get back lease returns to sell as CPO cars. Porsche has MRM, so it's easy to get a spectacularly bad lease deal from Porsche.
I've leased one Porsche, because it was actually an incentivized deal. But unless you can write off the lease, Porsche leases are not particularly good, IMO. But there is peace-of-mind for knowing your trade-in value when you purchase a car. But you are locked in, so make sure you sign the...
You can't use cash, but you could use gift cards that function as credit cards. The cost for non-member charging like that is a lot more expensive though.
Like your existing Porsche, the car still logs a lot of info that a Porsche dealer could pull out of the car.
Are you sure you'd qualify for the state incentive? There's an income requirement that I doubt many Taycan buyers could meet...
PG&E will give you $800 though.
