Hi. My 4 year old hatch creaks on one side. Dealer advised noises not covered and lubricated it. A bit better but has come back the past week or so. Competent to do it myself but can’t figure out how to remove the plastic cover that presumably is there for safety. Tried silicon spray but can’t get access etc. Any ideas or advice?

As per earlier posts, warranty will cover if this indicates imminent failure.

Also you probably can't reach the mechanism and motor inside as it is sealed.

They told me that the vehicle is covered only by the Porsche Approved Warranty. However, because the part is still functioning and does not currently show signs that it is about to fail, they declined my warranty repair claim.

That said, the part makes a very loud rattling/noise, and in my opinion this is simply not acceptable for a vehicle of this brand and price. Unfortunately, Porsche's position is that as long as the component still works, they will not replace it under warranty.

And yes, the noise is exactly the same.
