Not at Porsche prices.
Just like how most people on the planet don't have the latest phones, the same way not everyone will have Porsche.

But I think a market correction is coming, chinese manufacturers are bringing theirs cars to europe with their prices. So EU car makers will have to compete.

I don't think any company will do it, unless Porsche creates a service menu like in the Teslas, but also add a DIY battery replacement function.

But I doubt they will due to liability. If a manufacturer let's someone DIY replace high voltage systems, in many countries they would be liabile and also break electricity codes.

Of course in theory Porsche could give this option just to third party companies, but then they would again have issues with liability, if fires or shocks...

So the third option is that someone hacks the Porsche and does make a DIY option. But the issue is that this takes time and resources. The market isn't super large and batteries are still the most expensive component in an EV.

Of course batteries become cheaper and better every year, but inflation does drive up wage costs. And the return on Investment for such a low volume project would maybe be bad. Many replacements I guess will be warranty swaps due to denting battery, so then the third party won't be used anyways.

So yes, I don't think it will come.
However reusing old battery packs In home storage etc is more likely, as already done with other packs from other manufacturers. Then the small dented batteries may be fine for home storage.

I believe it is simply a matter of time before batteries are routinely available for replacement.
The value of the vehicle sans battery is significant and trashing hardware for the battery simply doesn't make sense over the long term. Battery replacement is routine in all sorts of hardware,,,why not cars/lux Porsches?

over the next 5-10 years absolutely there will be battery options at a significantly less price than what they are currently selling for

If it is to happend, I think it has to be some sort of "right to repair" that EU forces on manufacturers, like forcing them to open up more and forcing them a "max price" of a battery replacement etc.

I doubt Porsche has any incentive to very much reduce the costs of older cars, as they want to sell new cars. If you dent your battery cover, your insurance pays a lot and you get a new battery. Of course its not good that it is super expensive, especially if it dies and its not an insurance case. Then you are out of luck!

Also the high battery prices reduce the value of the car as it ages, as the consequence of the battery dying on you becomes very high.

But again I dont think Porsche cares about the residual value of a used EV.
