Guys,
A lot of good ideas here. Clearly if it was a simple one-trick solution Porsche would have a service bulletin fix.
As I mentioned before in this thread, deleting the app and put car in privacy mode seems to help. I have done all that and I still get the occasional false alarm. Very random maybe one time every few weeks and one time only.
I haven’t noticed it happening when the car is plugged into my home 220 V charger. Honestly guys we need Porsche to figure this out and the fact that they have been working on this since May 21’ clearly indicates this is a pretty complicated issue. All the solution seem to help but I don’t think they are a permanent solutions as some of us are still getting false alarms. That said I wish everyone a “silent night” this holiday.

A quick update. This has mostly fixed the issue however I think there is another issue I am dealing with now.

In my garage and only in my garage after locking the car the alarm will go off after a minute or so. I think this may be due to the motion sensor in my garage setting off the internal motion sensors in the car.

1. Park Car in Garage
2. Lock the car
3. Leave garage
4. After a minute the alarm goes off

Between step 3 and 4 the lights in my garage automatically turn off. The motion sensor is a fancy sonar sensor and just above the car. My new theory is that the sonar gets enabled triggering the alarm in the car possibly from the internal motion sensors of the car. I'm still looking into it.

If I don't lock the car or if I use the double tap the lock button on the remote this isn't happening. The issue is repeatable and only in my garage, not outside.

Thanks,

-Peter

Last night my alarm went off at 5:00 am. I don’t know the status of the car in the garage but I usually leave it unlocked. I turned off the alarm with the key by pressing the unlock button once, the alarm was silenced. I did not lock the car. Five minutes later, the alarm was going off again. This time I locked the car by double taping the lock button on the key. What I noticed,

1. Each time the alarm went off, I got a notification on my phone that the “Temperature adjustment in your vehicle has been completed”.

2. I have a timer set for charging AND Pre cool/heat but it is set for 6:00am, not 5am. No idea why I would get that message on my phone app at 5:00am.

3. It was raining yesterday, only second time the car has been in the rain. Not sure if the car being wet had anything to do with it.

I hope there is a permanent fix to this issue soon.

If the precool/heat is set for 6am, I think the process starts an hour before. So that would have been 5am when the alarm went off.

Maybe the reason the motion sensors are triggering false alarms is precisely hot or cold air circulation as they detect movement thru temperature changes. Maybe they are too sensitive…

I brought my 22CT to the dealer to check on the alarm issue. From the report, “interior sensor is triggering the alarm, contacted Porsche, customer has the option to disable the interior monitoring by pressing the lock button twice on they key or disabling via PCM. No solution currently available, do not exchange the roof console interior monitoring sensor at this point. A technical solution will be communicated as soon as it is available.”

So in short, they don’t have a fix yet, so need to either disable the sensor (key fob or PCM) or put into privacy mode, only options for now.

Deactivating “Car Alarm” does not fix the false alarm issue in my case.

Half an hour ago I returned home, locked the car and deactivated the interior alarm with the key. After that I plugged in the charger and set a timer. And ten minutes later… again a false alarm. Seems as if charging activates again the interior alarm. Or charging with the timer.

I don’t have my car yet. But don’t you have to unlock your car in order to plug in? Or did I mis understood the sequence.

I have the electric charging port, it is possible to open such a charging port without unlocking the car.

I just got my car yesterday. The alarm has gone off twice. Seems to go back to
Interior monitoring by itself even though not is not checked on the PCM. I have disabled the monitoring by Porsche connect so I will see what happens now

Does anyone know if the Dealer can have the Alarm turned off until Porsche has a fix? I have no need for the Alarm as I never leave the car unattended.

One user from Norway (if I remember right) said that the dealer has disabled the alarm "permanently" and required them to sign a waiver. I omitted the Porsche app completely and have not had a problem yet with false alarms (signed normally in to my profile in the car that I made with a web browser). I guess it can't be entirely a hardware issue, and has something also to do with the app.

So I disconnected only the Porsche Connect app. The alarm went off with in 1 minute after arming. Then I disconnected the My Porsche app. Hasn’t gone off yet. So we will see. I don’t need the apps; although, it is nice to cool the car down before us in it.
