The first one was 1 week after delivery. Sidewall of the front passenger. Unfixable. Ended up getting two Continental ProContact RX since they were a little cheaper than the GoodYear and getting one tire when the other had 5k miles on it didn't seem wise. I can't tell the difference when driving or cornering hard.

Now, I got a flat in the driver's rear 6 months later. They said they wouldn't advise repairing.. what do you think?

Anyone go up to 325x30x21 in the ProContact RX. They have no GY in stock. 305s are in stock but wondering if anyone went to to 325 without issue.

Would you replace two or try and patch this? With all the flats I'm getting, might be worth getting two new ones with a road hazard warranty but would rather not drop a grand today.

Discount Tire said due to the weight of these EVs they are more prone to getting flats. Anyone else get more than 1 every couple years?

I got two flats during the first year of ownership. I bought a used Cayenne collapsible spare and didn't have a flat until last month where I got two screws in the same tire, not repairable.

A hole there I would patch, or even plug. Not sure about such knife like cut like in the picture. I picked up a screw on 2nd day after delivery of my brand new Taycan, on the way home from the dealer. I plugged it, then drove home over 3,000 miles, used it for the reminder of winter that year, then 2 more winters since, no problems. These are winter tires, unlikely to do a track day with those, so don't foresee any issues. If I had the itch to take it to the track in the winter, would put on the all seasons for that weekend.

One week in, hit a pothole and blew out the sidewall on the front passenger side. I bought the wheel and tire warranty (5 year) and am glad I did. I have 21" wheels -- the sidewalls are so low I'm just planning on frequent flats...

I agree with the shop a puncture like that is not repairable, a nail or bolt sure but that looks to be a 1/2 inch slice and I wouldn't trust even an internal patch on that. I also had 2 tire punctures within my first 2 years of ownership (1 nail & 1 bolt) and had both of those plugged with no problems.

Welcome to the club!
EXACTLY the same experience.
1 week ownership: 1st rear tire gone.
2 months later: next rear tire double-pierced by a bent screw out of hell.
Since then: bought an all new set with insurance on the tires and: nothing.

Continental tires offer free road hazard warranty for 12 months from date of purchase. So you should be covered for a free tire replacement.

I share your frustration. I’ve had my 2022 Taycan RWD since October 2022. Only 6784 miles on it, nonrepairable punctured to one of the reader tires required that I replace both of the rears. About 10 days ago, with 14,952 miles, all for needed replacement. The tire dealer, Grand Prix Performance in Costa Mesa, California, basically echoed what we are all learning: heavy cars wear out tires quickly. But as a fellow Californian, I am appalled at the extent that debris and objects such as appear in your photos are not cleaned off the roads more quickly. I’ve had to replace tires for any number of types of punctures, perhaps the weirdest of which was a carpenter’s awl sticking out of the side of a run-flat therefore non-repairable tire on a BMW Z4. The “”Golden State” ain’t so golden these days. Better road maintenance could prevent costly repairs and needless tire replacements.

Two flats the first year. One was because I picked up a screw near an EA station that was at a Home Depot. Another was metal road debris. I was thinking of mounting some really strong magnets under the front lip?!

My first and only flat happened while driving home from LA to the Bay Area after picking up my "new to me" CPO '24 Taycan in Downtown LA.

I was just coming down the Grapevine towards Bakersfield when the tire pressure warning came on. I was able to make it to a gas station at the next exit with 8 psi and call AAA.

I got a tow to an America's Tire, arriving 15 minutes before they were scheduled to close. They stayed open a little late, patched my tire and got me on my way -- no charge!
