Need confirmation - are the replacement plugs available and is the software update for the chargers also available ?

One dealer had me bring in the car and charger a couple of weeks ago because they insisted the replacement cables were available. They didn;t do the replacement after all and claimed the cable wasn't available, after all. I called the parts manager who advised they got it wrong initially and they mistook a different recall for mine. Not sure how many charger recalls Porsche has but it sounds like there may be 6-7 based on the conversation, each with different replacement cables ?

For curiosity sake, I called another dealer who insists the replacement cables are available and just need to be ordered. I'm scheduled to get the work done in a couple of weeks. However, I cannot get that dealer's service team to return my call to confirm they are actually correct as to availability. Hate to waste yet another day going to Porsche for work they don't do.....

Does anyone know for sure ?

PS - I do have the dollar compensation. Was about to order a replacement charger when the call came in that cables are available. So., holding off purchasing a new charger for the minute...

I was in for service last week (northern cal) and was told they still don't have them. Some others reported they got the replacement, so they may be trickling in.

My car is at the dealer now for the cell block module replacements for the main battery; APB5. My advisor said they would also be doing APB6 as the cables are available. I suppose I'll find out for sure once I get the car back, which apparently could be another couple of weeks from now if things go as promised,

If you live in North America, don't depend on any Porsche-branded home EVSE, no matter whether it has a replacement cable or not.

[North America] - FAQ: the ultimate guide to the Porsche EVSE PMC+/PMCC/PWCC

So far, only a very few people in the forum have reported their cables have been replaced.
that is almost certainly what we’ll do. Strange that the old charger has worked near flawlessly for three years until we unplugged to take it to the dealer. Now it conks out within an hour of starting a charge session.

We’ll be moving within the year and was hoping to avoid hard wiring one to this home only to pull it out within the year. Certainly doable if we need to.
Yes they are available got mine last week.

thanks - is there a software update to the charger that’s also done at the same time ? From what I’ve read elsewhere, it appears that the charger needs to be reprogrammed / updated to work with the new plug / cable.

Apparently it's only available for cars with PMC+ and not to the PMCC... anyone know why and when the PMCC which is the more expansive option will get it?

Why wouldn’t that surprise me ? Curious where you’ve heard this. I’ve pinged a local dealer again to confirm. TBD

Further update - just heard back from a local dealer who insists the correct cable and update is available for my car (2021 4S with the PMCC). They say they’ve done at least four of these now without issues.

We’ll see in a couple of weeks when we’re scheduled to get the work done.
