Whether it's Android or Apple, EVERYONE should be using CarPlay. It's wireless with the update, and I have Waze come up every time, along with Audible books that I listen to, messages I can check, and my calendar appointments - all on the central screen. Waze will tell you about potholes, hazards in the road, cars at the shoulder, traffic conditions and most importantly - police! Everybody should use CarPlay and Waze.

waze is great but when travelling long distance the PIRM is handy to have up and running

You can do both! I did that on my recent long trip, and you can have the PIRM running with Waze in the background so you can get the alerts.

Yves, this is actually a very valid point. Thx. I hadn't though about it that way. I'll look into the proclip that is mentioned pretty widely on this forum. Looks like a very nice mount.

anothersolution to mount your phone to have more screen. ??
