The usual compare sites want to more than double my renewal. What the hell is going on? Just outright profiteering.

Anyone had any luck getting a good deal direct from independents?

This year has been terrible for insurance across the board, but in particular EV and luxury EV insurance has taken a massive hike in my experience.

My premium for the Taycan near tripled and even after challenge they only dropped it slightly. So I left them after many years and went elsewhere. Mind you none of the usual gaggle of insurers were remotely interested / providing quotes

I think that they've been badly burnt by what's happening in the trade with extended repair times, difficulty getting parts and having to foot large hire car bills in the meanwhile. Also the investment side of their business has taken a huge hit in the markets. So they're fucked basically and we're shouldering the bill.

Happy days not.

Try admiral. My renewal did go up but I think got it for about £970 in the end. Still excessive but seemed best out there.

I'm with Admiral - they want £2000, and the comparison sites even more!

Yeah my Admiral policy was just over £1K in 2021-22 as part of a multi-car policy. This year with a sole car on the policy they wanted £2907. They reduced that ask by £333 with one call but that was as low as they go...

As far as risks go; have 24 years NCB in a safe profession. I'd been with Admiral since 2017 and have insured via the other EUI Limited group insurance companies (Bell, Elephant et al ) since 2006....

The UK insurance market is toast. I'm putting that politely.

£700 quote when we first ordered in 2021, £1100 by the time of delivery, now this. Genuinely impossible to have nice things in this country at the moment. What's the point of working for anything if they're going to fuck you over with it anyway?

It does seem to be a UK thing. My Taycan GTS increased by €0.03 at renewal.

I wonder how many uninsured drivers are on the roads nowadays?

A lot of people were already struggling financially and will just not be able to afford the hugely increased car insurance premiums.

I ended up with eSure. Quite a few (including my fleet provider) wouldn't quote.

1k quote (was paying 1.7k for 5 cars, including an RS4 and 911!). 11yrs NCB. 6pts to count. 53.

I'm hoping insurance calms down next year...but not hopeful.

I'm told it's the cost of courtesy cars because they can't get parts over the border fast enough any more since... y'know...

Ditto.

None of the EUI companies would provide open quotes...and renewals...well we know about that ?
