(Updated with consolidated questions)

Picking up tomorrow (new 4S CT)

What are things you wish you asked? Or did ask and are really glad you did?

Recommend Questions / Activities:

  1. Take your time to inspect for any cosmetic damages. All of them if reported at pickup time will be covered. Mine had scratches on the driver side sill and plastic, broken clips from the cover in the frunk, and rear seat plastic panels around seat belts were pulled out.
  2. SOS light to be green and you have Car connected to the Porsche App
  3. Make sure you have everything that comes with the car. Dual keys were an issue at have at one time. You have the charger in the bag. Free Tesla adapter.
  4. Otherwise, the next thing after you get it is to get it configured with some pros/cons for different feature. I spent about an hour on the phone helping J1.2 owner to get everything configured and happy to do it again. The setup goes from main screen (3 tubes), PCM screen, and then the Climate screen.
  5. Do not leave without having something free. I usually get free all weather mats and trunk mat but rarely use them. So my preference, if done now, would be to get a second brand new carpeted set. Otherwise, the rest of the small things like key color blades and tire valve caps I get from Suncoast.
  6. Top of the list is to not leave the dealership unless you have logged in successfully with your personal Porsche ID and can access via My Porsche App.

Congrats on the pickup news. This almost never happens anymore.
There are checklists but I will go into high level list based on my experience.

- Take your time to inspect for any cosmetic damages. All of them if reported at pickup time will be covered. Mine had scratches on the driver side sill and plastic, broken clips from the cover in the frunk, and rear seat plastic panels around seat belts were pulled out.

- SOS light to be green and you have Car connected to the Porsche App

Covered before on this forum a while back.

Green SOS light as mentioned (used to be be an issue).

After 5 years of the Taycan you should be assured that it will be a smooth handover and no different to any other handover.

Great news guys. My freeze date is 3/15. I literally just started with them a few days ago and they swapped an allocation with another dealer. That being said the freeze date was set before I entered the picture. Delivery date early June. Great list on questions to ask

I’m in Va and the car is in ATL. I was considering shipping it to me, but kind of want that dealer experience despite the 8 hours or so road trip. Should I ship or go pick it up to ensure all the things that’s been talked about?

Please post your build since you have time to change things and if you want our feedback.
Absolutely would not want the dealer to just ship it. Highly recommend watching it coming off the truck if possible and then waiting for the PDI to complete, then inspect and pick it up the right way.

It's gone up in price (a lot) but I highly recommend taking delivery at Porsche's Atlanta headquarters. Add the "Porsche Experience Center Delivery" option to the build. You get treated very well for a half day at the center. Great meal in the restaurant, guided tour of the facility, a track session with an instructor as well as a, slightly silly, "presentation" of your car. Well worth doing once and far better than anything you will get at a dealership. If you are entertaining thoughts of picking it up in Atlanta the PEC option is the way to go.
