Haha he said "Good choice" when I selected Dolomite Silver lol. I actually love Mamba but it is a bit bld for me to drive. Nice Spec

So, are we now seeing Cars being completed, shipped to dealers but being held back awaiting Bose Amps?

Is anyone from the UK currently in this position?

My car (RWD) is apparently on the way over from Emden, SA still says it's showing as having Bose, but he's not confident until he sees the car in the flesh - Maybe its showing Bose, but only got the speakers etc and missing the amp!

Whilst not delighted if the car does not have Bose, I've at least already come to terms on this potentially being the case. What I would struggle to come to terms with is if the car is going to get it but I'll have to let it sit in a compound until an amp is made and retrofitted with no clue on timescales!

If this is the case, unsure why they wouldn't release the car and let you at least enjoy it (clearly without any radio etc), rather than leave unused, un paid for and for an undetermined amount of time!

I am guessing the head unit contains more than just the Bose stereo. In BMW's the head unit contains the sat nav etc and stereo so I think probably undriveable on roads with out as no warning tones etc.

I'm just fed up with monochrome cars; arctic silver Cayman S 987; space grey F11; Carrara white Cayenne E-hybrid. Time for something to go along side my Norfolk Mustard Elise S1 track car.

Your guess could be on the money Simon. I'm sure I read on another thread that a dealer stated the loss of warning tones, as they don't operate without the system being fully operational, was a safety issue? Apparently this is what creates the stop sale.

Could be right but, then again..............? ?‍

Yesterday I received a phone call about my 4s delivery, unfortunately it will be delivered without Bose system. So today I went to Porsche Centrum Leusden to checkout the standard audio system and if it was pretty bad I wanted to discus Burmester or other options.. But to be honest, the standard system it is pretty good actually.

I've read a few threads about the poor quality of the standard system, actually based my decision for Bose on those threads. But for everyone who is doubting, I listened to both systems today, I do hear a difference, but not a 1500€ difference. So don't worry if you are not an audiophile! Definitely not worth a delivery delay of 6 months.

I got my allocation for a February build last week and was advised no Bose (or Burmester). I did the same thing listened to both and I’m happy with the base system… now I’m only £1000 over budget ?

I'm a week ahead of you... at least that was the case about 10 days ago when my SA called. Production start 4th November, complete 11th November and due in Reading 2nd Dec.

I have resisted asking Reading for an update, I am going to try and hold out until Tuesday week. My logic being with CP8.0 estimated for Friday 11th and Emden the same day it could potentially be on a vehicle carrier anytime from Tuesday 15th, Wednesday 16th or Friday 18th. Yes I am ever the optimist lol. Then even if it does get built on schedule I am guessing there is a 50:50 chance of it leaving the factory with a Bose head unit and not to mention arriving at Reading without a cracked roof! ??

Well at least my ally roof won't be cracked!
I am considering buying one of those dongles to connect to the Car Scanner app to see if, and how far, the main battery has deteriorated in the 6 months or so of zero use.
I am no expert on rechargable batteries but of all things electronic/electrical they have the shortest life IME.

I think I'm now on the same schedule as you, my CT4S was supposed to exit build yesterday but the dealer rang on Wednesday to say it had suddenly moved to Nov 11th. Haven't heard anything about Bose being removed but will go mad if they pull that now given I almost went for the Burmester. Fingers crossed we will all have our cars before Christmas and can forget about how appalling this entire process has been and just enjoy driving them.

It will defintely have the Bose... just might not be installed on the production line. The trouble is it will then sit at PRG until they get sent the head unit.

Wow that is some wait! I got lucky ordered 9th June 22 from Reading and got an allocation on 2nd July having been told the system said it would be Q3 or Q4 23 but nore likely spring 23 from their guess when I ordered. I know one person cancelled just after I ordered but was told everyone would move up. There were 11 in front of me when I ordered. The explanation was they got a larger alloaction than expected at the end of June and several front of me didn't want a car this year to to existing lease commitments?
