Do you actually drive all 260 miles or is that just an estimate based on how many miles you're getting per kWh?
I've done that 260 mile a few times. Not weekly by any stretch

Hi. Looking at buying a used 4S with 44k miles on the clock. Not cheap at around £70k but full service history of course. Is it a bad idea to buy from an independent? High mileage for a 70 plate. Worried about whether the battery may have been treated by the previous owner. Reading this forum, it appears important to have cared for the battery! Any thoughts?
If you like it buy it! The warranty on the battery is 8 years. You really should check the SoH of the battery before you buy.

Mine went from 94% to 100% after a module was replaced.

Ok. I’ve been looking on the Porsche used car listing on their website. Very 4S has a different range for the same spec. Weird. Spoke to one of the dealers who said would be lucky to get 230 miles real world even with the enhanced battery.
That’s my experience and I have the big battery. I get 220 miles best case. But I have the least efficient spec.

Difficult decision! It’s that or a used Defender which I would keep for two years and then look at where out there. Completely different cars! I think the Taycan market will look very different in two years.

Even the ICE market in 2 years is going to look very different (in the UK).
Will the current regulations/ policy of 2030 still be relevant or will govt bow down a bit, knowing that electricity prices are still high, EV infrastructure charging is not matching to demand (or surge in EV vehicles), etc, etc…
Add to that if China goes to town on Taiwan …. Will we see a repeat of Ukraine scenario in terms of shortages… probably worse for the electronics component issues.
Buy what you like today !

Ah verses a Defender. That is an interesting choice. And I can speak from authority on this.
Both look great and are good at what they do.

The Taycan will be a LOT cheaper to own over a two year period (fuel and service).

Insurance is the killer on land rovers. I heard yesterday land rovers own insurance won’t cover range rovers!

I like out Of the ordinary looking cars and buy what I like the look of and driving but the Taycan resell value in two years will be horrible. I have a fully loaded s560e which I bought two years ago and is worth the same today. A £68k Taycan is showing up on webuyanycar as worth about £52k. Not real numbers but don’t like throwing away £20k.

I can't speak to UK depreciation, but that should be a factor.
Tax, insurance and fuel are relatively cheaper here (in my state), but still make the Taycan very attractive to own/operate.

Sounds like you have two separate items you're trying to resolve:

1. Usability. Will it do the 200 mile day trip?
2. Cost of ownership. How much will I comparatively loose over time?

Agreed! I nearly always buy lower mileage vehicles. I am looking at a 2020 model with 44k. I usually buy a two year old model with between 10k and 20k miles. That she and mileage on a 4S with glass roof and extended battery is much more expensive in the uk. Probably nearer 80k.
