Looking at a used Taycan. I got some Photos and noticed some water stain on front and rear passenger seats. The Porsche dealer said they would try to clean it but I’m. Not really sure how well they would be able to clean it or blend it in.

I included a picture.

What do you guys think?

No. It’s going to need to be dyed. Porsche leathers are always very susceptible to water staining. The more premium version, the easier it is to damage them. And if water gets into the ventilation holes, you’ll have permanent damage from the underside swelling. Shame the previous owner was careless.

Lolz. Hopefully not pee!!
How hard is it to get dyed? Does the leather come off the seat like a cover and get dyed.

It is positive that the seller agrees to try. It could be useful to inquire whether they have dealt with similar marks on Taycans before deciding. Special cleaning techniques can often have a significant impact. Moreover, be attentive on the test drive to notice any remaining smells or evidence of extensive water damage.

I would be concerned about this car in addition to edging to get it fixed..
1. How did the stains get there?
2. The previous owner couldn't be bothered fixing it.
3. So likely goes for upkeep of the rest of the car.

We are all just speculating based on the photos but it is very possible that stain/visual condition could be cleaned up very easily. That would be the lesser of my two concerns here. My bigger concern is that it appears that fairly significant amount of liquid entered the back seat(s). This liquid, even if cleaned on the surface, likely went to other places in the car as well. I would skip this one as there be could other “side effects” (of whatever event that happened here) that are detected later into your ownership…..and these would likely not be covered by any warranty.

Try Malco. You can get it on Amazon I believe. I have Bordeaux and had two small stains that looked identical to that in color from two small kids, sitting in the car with wet, bathing suits that soaked through the towels I had them sit on. Used Malco with a microfiber and they are completely gone.

The cheapest solution would be to paint it with a rubberised leather paint. Probably around a grand at a good automotive upholstery shop. Use this to drive the price down to the boots.

Also check some salvage yards. You might get lucky with a near brand new set
