Has anyone this problem. Sometimes my app says that it can not connect because the car is in private mode. (but its not)
After a drive the problem solves itself.
Is there anything i can do about is or is it a general problem?

I think it’s a general bug. It also happens to me sometimes, Taycan Cross Turismo 2021.

It happens every so often.....

It's just your Taycan having a strop.

Treat it like living with a teenager and just take it on the chin.

I have found that if I am interacting with the car and lose mobile signal at my end, eg if I am on a train, the car will think it is in privacy mode and lock me out. When I return to the car and unlock it then (a) it is clearly NOT in privacy mode; (b) it is reset and works properly.

A very annoying bug. Suggest reporting to Porsche each time (shake your phone from side to side and the app pops up a contact page).

It happens to ours when it's parked in (parts of) a local underground garage with poor cell service. I suspect it's simply that the lack of communication gets interpreted as if it's in privacy mode.

That would certainly align with my experience.

I had it happen this morning as well after driving to work. When I went to the car a few hours later, it was still 'privacy mode' on my phone, but on the PCM it showed that PM was inactive. And now it's back to normal on my phone as well.

First-world problems... :)

I am pretty clear that when it’s happened to me, my phone had patchy coverage and the car had continual, stable cellular service. the car should not, in my view, go into privacy mode in those circumstances.

Happened to me this morning for the first time as I can’t see how much charge the car has since plugging it in last night. I too get the LTE icon crossed out on the screen whilst driving. I’ll mention it to Porsche when it goes in for a software hiccup next week ?

Happens to me all the time when doing road trips. When it does, it doesn't fix itself for a few hours, even if I'm sitting in the car, LTE shows signal bars, cell phone has bars, car says it's not in privacy mode but app does. From my observations, this happens when traveling through spotty internet, i.e. internet occasionally goes out. This seems to FUBR the Porsche server state machine so my app cannot connect to the car for a few hours - I actually get notifiations, such as "Climate Control Complete", etc. but the phone app reports that the car is in privacy mode (which again, it is not, I could be sitting in the car seeing privacy mode off). Perhaps in Germany they have perfect cell network coverage anywhere a Taycan could find itself, so it didn't occur to Porsche engineers that their cars may actually drive through a cellular dead spot?

Porsche software is still in its infancy. It seems they are still discovering this new invention, the internet. The MyPorche phone app and its backend is particularly annoying to use. Besides going into fake private mode, the car will also report open windows most of the time (I just ignore any open windows warnings now). IMHO they picked a horrible architecture to start (e.g. no real time connection to the car). If it makes any Taycan owner feel any better, MyAudi is actually worse. Not much worse, mostly similar, but it seems to have a harder time communicating with the car to get status when parked, and it reports false status (e.g. besides open windows status like the Taycan, it told me the car was unlocked for a few days straight recently, even though the car was locked (red door LED blinking), many times during those days too). MyAudi does have an Apple Watch app though, so pick your poison.

it happened a few time. I can’t remember specific circumstances (but never during a trip). As previously said, it comes back « fast » in general.

if not, log off from your account (in the car), lock the car, come back a few mn later, log in and it’ll (magically ?) work again

I've only seen the app tell me the car is in private mode a couple times. Yesterday after an 1hr 40 drive home we parked up and I went to check the trip data and found the privacy mode issue happening. I chalked it up to the PCM crash mid-trip (center screen went black, nav on the dash stopped). We were in and out of cell signal all weekend during our trip and didn't seem to have an issue with the app when there was a connection... until we were home. Everything on the PCM indicated I was logged in, and after jumping back into the car for a further 5 minutes of driving the app was fine again. Seems another data point that would support whitex's thoughts perhaps.

To fix a continuing "no remote access car in privacy mode" problem, @tchavei fixed it by re-adding his Porsche ID in the car: https://www.taycanforum.com/forum/threads/no-remote-access-via-app.16190/page-2#post-251491 and following post.
Someone should file a feature requests with Porsche
* a single button option in PCM to "re-add my Porsche ID"
* a button to force a complete 12V reset (this one would need to be a physical button, perhaps in the frunk to ensure nobody is resetting while driving).

Besides being convenient for customers, I imagine it would save some warranty billing when customers come to get service to do it.
