here in the EU, the discounts are driven by the fact of a facelift appearing soon, so the dealers are willing to fill the order books with an "outgoing" generation and incentivize people not to wait, but to order now. But that's EU.

..I don’t think there will be a single answer or view point that will satisfy all, this thread is definitely dragging on with no option of closure and/or satisfaction……..

There’s not a huge market for 6 figure EV’s. It’s very much a niche market. Couple this was high interest rates, all high end car market is slowing down , it’s not exclusive to Taycan. In addition, who in right mind would not just buy a used Taycan for 1/2 of sticker.

…in short us who are on salary sacrifice and price fluctuations, faults or tyres issues have no real impact - it’s probably a majority market share for EV’s in UK

I definitely target cars and not locations, so it's been a few places across the country.

It is strange that the major incentives are only for business users in the Uk and no real incentives exist at all for private buyers any more.

With all the pro oil / anti green stuff going on with the current UK Govt, I doubt things will change for the better any time soon.

Even business users have the increase in BIK coming - and I bet that only moves in one direction.

Since the surprise by-election win on ULEZ, anti green/EV/pro oil just looks like a last ditch election vote grab to me.

Sorry - drifting off topic.

@Fish Fingers - agree

hmmm politics….as a long term ex-forces guy, I’m probably the worst advocate or example for political opinion ……certainly where I live, the door knocking local politicians have probably earmaked my house as the one to avoid as they ALL get a hard time should they unwisingly knock ? simplistic view is that they are ALL the same, just different priorities with different industry money backing their parties.

As for mandates, go green, go oil blah blah……. it’s all seems based on wining popularity in order to remain in office and suck wages from the tax payer for as long as they can…….but it would seem that the recent past political beings sat at their desks and made a deadline pledges that are simply not achievable.

I don’t think it would be a good idea for me make any statements regarding EV’s and the claims to being greener, as I will be brutally honest in that I’m only a user because of tax incentives and refuse to be a hypocrite ….. feel better now I have had a rant about my least favourite subject.

The other fact that is im a Salary Sacrifice user as personally I just dont want to pay cash for a ‘car’ that will loose around £50k/£75k over three years, or be a full owner of a tech item that will be out of date after approx 6 months where advancements are gaining momentum.

BUT, at the same time I am mindful that there are many who have worked hard for what the have and I tap my hat in admiration that they have saved and spent on their dream. Simply a great achievement that allows to enjoy the benefits.

But hey, if you don’t have fun and/opinions….life would be boring and will pass you by before you know it……….is there a moral point to my post ………..nope, not really except simple advise to all to enjoy the moment, enjoy that Taycan, drive the crap out of it or sit it outside your window and admire…..what ever floats your boat……just don’t let the ‘what if‘ spoil it ??

This is definitely true when I think of my acquaintances....

Most who wanted / could afford an EV has now bought one.

1 person has cancelled an order for an EV due to economic reasons/interest rates.

Next door is worrying about when his Tesla PCP finishes next April as his fixed rate mortgage renews at the same time.

Everyone else is firmly in ICE world. Many can't really afford a new EV, so some are turning anti EV (citing all the usual anti EV stuff that the media is pushing....... Fires / charging woes / range - and now depreciation).

Meanwhile, I just carry on driving my Taycan with a smile on my face.
Talk about ICE world. I want to get into a 911. Probably won't think of fuel prices when I order. But when i do think of it. Holly crap, it's going to cost about $500 CAD a month. will see, probably will only do it after i pay off the CT in accelerated fashion than paying it off through the finance term.

Straight from the Porsche Approved Used site:

Search new and used cars for sale | Porsche Finder GB

15 cars per page on my screen. 32 and a bit pages of Taycans.

(It is possible I counted/multiplied wrong though).
On Porsche France web site, you don't have to count as they count for you :) Taycan used Porsche approved available cars are way less than 911's and Cayenne's, and similar as Panamera

They do in the UK, but get bored after 100 and default to "100+" :)

Good choice, I wish that i can do the same. Even after i pay off my CT, i don't think that i want to add a 911 right away, even if i have the war chest. I don't want to pay for 2 expensive insurance at the same time.

The US may be different to the UK...

This is across all UK approved dealers, but only NEW cars:
  • 12 new Macans
  • 20 new Cayennes
  • 36 718/Boxster
  • 74 Panameras
  • 109 911s
  • 486 Taycans
I would expected that Cayennes will have near zero stock since new model just arrived.

I don't know how things works in UK, but a car like Taycan in the US has a lot of sales in the last 2-3 months of the year because of leasing deals that will help people get taxes incentives in their 2023 taxes, so I imagine Porsche will stock a lot of cars for that reason in the end of the year, and here the huge price decline in Tesla Model S will probably have some consequences in allocations being canceled IMHO

People shouldn’t moan about ‘politics’ it affects all our lives. Being aware of the effects of politics on car prices, Brexit etc is vital to many of us. Trying to close something down because it’s political is crazy imho.
