Center rear light bar install - so cal

Hi all

I have a new center tail light to install and I’m wondering if anyone can recommend a tech in so cal? I would do it myself but removing the trim pieces (without breaking them!) is too intimidating.

Did you get the one that lights up the PORSCHE words? I got that one and waiting for it to arrive.

I did indeed. Took much longer to arrive than expected thanks to it being stopped by CBT so the exporting country could pay the tariff!

Not standard... it's a $490.00 USD option under "Lighting" in the configurator.

It's actually very easy if you have access to PIWIS and can get the spoiler extended to the maintenance position. It's just one, fairly sturdy, trim piece that you can pull down with your hand from left to right, and then a few 10mm bolts.

You sure you need PIWIS? Everywhere I’ve read it says it doesn’t need it if you’re just replacing the light.

It's not an absolute blocker. You're, right. You don't need one, you can go through the trunk. However, if done via the Porsche workshop manual way with PIWIS it only takes 5min (after getting the spoiler into the maintenance position) and you'll have plenty of space for your fingers and tools!

Got mine from eBay like everyone else. Paid just under $1k. The connector on the side of the Taycan is the same, just the led band has the letters on.

Ah, ok, cool. I didn't realize that the bar that lights up across the back in stock configuration is integral to this piece.
