- 2023 Porsche Taycan Turbo

New Member Here, I recently took delivery of a 2023 Taycan Turbo. I did not opt for the 19.2kw option as I didn't think was necessary as the grid is not ready for it and can be retro fitted if ever needed at a later date. I was using the Porsche supplied home charger with a 50 amp breaker and 6 gauge wire. I live in South Florida and recently with the humidity was running into an overheating issue with I was charging at 100% on the unit. Up until the overheating issue, I was getting 9.6kw charge. Just recently switched to the Charge Point Flex hardwired, it seems not one person you speak to with them, with Porsche, or honestly anyone other than an end user has any understanding of charging in the entire industry yet. Kind of strange.... Anyway, the instructions say if you want to charge at 37m per hour, need to install a 70 or 80 amp breaker to run a 50 amp charge and if you use a 50 amp breaker, it backs it down?? this is where its a bit unclear. Basically what I did was left the 50 amp breaker I had already installed, and in the app set up, I told it that I was running an 80 amp. Right now I am charging at 10.5 kw. Now supplying the backround info, my questions are below if anyone that has also gone through this can help me. I much appreciate the insight.
1. Is 10.5kw the max I am going to get out of this even if I swap out the Breaker to a 70 or 80?
2. I'm guessing the app is really just software, but I am not understanding why they want you to run a slow output on a 50 amp breaker, if the system goes up to 50amps.
3. The charger max output is 12kw, from what I read, the car charges up to 11kw (is this even true) or if I jump to 80 amp breaker, will I squeeze out more output?
thanks again and look forward to the comments.
