Not a 918, but the GT4 ePerformance. They are not calling a 718. I think what ever the new electric Boxster/Cayman will be a completely new chassis. Shape might share the ICE cars, but that will be it.

Listening to that video I'm thinking Porsche could have a $5000 option for straight cut gears in first gear and they would get takers on it.

"Why does your car make that whine?"

"Well, you see, they're straight cut racing gears designed to stand up to the stress and high torque of the motor while of running on the track."

Could even pair it with a more aggressive response to the accelerator.

Most people think that sound is the electric motor and immediately comment on how they hate it. Gear whine won’t sell to the public.
