Just got my wheel swap for winter done today. Pretty pleased with tyre wear levels so far.

The summers are 21" Pirelli PZero NF0 from factory with 32,000 km on them. They likely have about 5,000 km left before they need replacing for a total approximate wear level of 37,000 km. They'll still be well above the legal limit – but with the torque and power levels of the Turbo S – it will be time to change them.

The winters are 20" Pirelli PZero Winter NF0 with 12,500 km on them. They likely have at least two and maybe three winter seasons left on them. Pretty good considering we're not easy going on our winters heading into the Norwegian arctic each year.

Overall the Pirelli's are wearing very well – and I can see myself sticking with them for the foreseeable.

The legal minimum thread across the EU is 1.6 mm.

Is the wear fully even?

Inside shoulders??

What pressures do you run? And do you use Sport/Sport Plus frequently?

Pretty even. The three numbers are outer, middle and inner wear per tyre.

I tend to use 0.1 bar more pressure than recommended half-load as outlined in the latest Porsche TSB (attached).

I use Sport mode a bit – rarely use Sport Plus.

Impressive range for sure.

Not sure about Ireland but no Porsche dealer will take a car back with anything less than 3 mm without reducing trade value.

Impossible for me to achieve. Too much fun around the corners, I guess.

Well, mine is in the OPC today for the brake line recall and they have indicated urgent need to replace the tyres, Pirelli’s Pzero, after only 14k miles…

gulp…

Can highly recommend Hankook Ion Evo (even if they aren’t NF0 in 21” 265/305). Noticeably significantly quieter and a bit of a boost in efficiency too.

Totally agree. Well worth the change.

I wonder if you can help me with the exact size of the all season Hankook Ion Evo that fit 21 inch Taycan wheels since they do not make them in the exact OEM sizes. I have Mission-Es and would like something better than OEM Continentals that are 265/35R21 and 305/30R21.

Also, I would not mind all season Michelins but again I struggle to confirm exact size that will fit.

All Seasons arent particularly popular in the UK and its common to use summer only tyres, so many AS arent available. I bought the following for mine:

Hankook iON Evo 265/35R21 101Y XL
Hankook iON Evo 305/30R21 104Y XL

£1,043 including fitting

My record was ~5,000 miles on a 911C4, from factory new to blowout, no track usage, no drifting or smokeouts. I didn't realize the rear tires had no measurable thread left, fronts had near zero. Never thought a car can do that, until I bought a Porsche. Since then I've been checking my thread more often than just summer/winter swap. Taycan holding up better than the 911, though I am a couple of decades older so might be driving less adventurously, and no longer do 6hr road trips almost every weekend averaging 72mph with refueling (my Taycan best so far was a 12hr road trip averaging 63mph, with charging).

Hymn, don’t know yet… OPC are too busy rinsing me at 150% retail tyre price to respond to my queRyan…
I never buy from dealers. One of the biggest rip offs.

Blackcircles etc may have mobile fitters.

Alt ask for photos of the tyres. I bet it's cords showing on the inner edge. Find a Blackcircles fitter near the OPC and drive it to them.
