Hi all, any recommendations on getting a dash cam fitted to the ST? My ST doesn’t have the Porsche Dash cam preparation unfortunately, but I’d like to get an aftermarket one installed with at least front and rear cameras. Any suggestions are appreciated! Cheers.

I liked the look of the Fitcamx and ordered just the front camera which looks like it integrates well.

Unfortunately my Taycan developed a fault between my ordering it and it being delivered so I haven’t tried to fit it yet.

+1 for the fitcamx. Have been using it for last few months and basically forgotten about it. Recently, I pulled the SD card out of it – just to check it was still recording okay – and it was!

The install can be a bit tricky – in terms of taking off and replacing trim pieces but FitcamX put out an updated video on YouTube that is pretty good at showing the various steps.

Hi - I retrofitted the front Porsche DashCam - expensive but it is okay.
Be careful about hardwiring a 3rd party Dashcam as it is likely to invalidate your warranty and they may get funny as regards applying recall updates as well. You can hardwire it into the rear 12v socket and that is fine but into any of the fuse boxes is simply a no go according to my local OPC.

Not wanting to mess with trim or permanent connection, I took the lazy and untidy non-permanent option of Garmin Dash Cam 46 on a suction mount up front and Garmin Mini stuck to the rear screen, both plugged in to the 12v sockets.

I wanted Porsche dash cam retrospectively, but as I didn't spec it, the dealership said that only front cam can be done and will cost £950. I had a look at blackvue and front&rear, and a battery for parking mode, was like £750 total. So I got blackvue, installed it myself (not hardwired tho) and it is perfect for me =)

+1 for FitCamX. Tricky but very doable self install on the front. I paid a big box store auto department to run the rear cam wire to the back.

I don’t mind paying the premium if they can factory fit a rear camera as well, but I guess Porsche thinks a front camera is all you need :CWL:
The blackvue looks great actually, I prefer not hardwired as I don’t want to potentially invalidate the warranty… £500ish at halfords and fitting cost £70 - would you recommend getting it fitted or is it easy enough to fit it yourself?
How good is the image quality especially in low light and at night? Can you see others plate at all? Are the functionalities any good? Quick review or any thoughts at all would be greatly appreciated! Cheers.

It’s gona drive me nut having a Garmin stuck on the window at this day’n’age :CWL: good on you tho if it works for you and you don’t mind the look of it on the dash:like:

TTW Installations did a very professional job installing a Blackvue 970x and battery (for parking mode without draining the car’s 12V) in my Sport Turismo. They have a nice room you can hang out / do work in, too. https://blackvueuk.co.uk/

Yeah, I wanted Porsche dash cam and didn't mind, but then doesn't feel right without rear camera. I bought DR770X-2CH front and rear and 48hours battery - £748.00. Feeds on my 12V when I am driving and that is enough to power for 2 days on parking. Hardwiring would void your warranty unless Porsche does it. Installation really easy, can hide wires well =) Quality is great, 1K both front and rear, can see everything including faces haha. Night time less so, but number plates are clear and readable from far. Sound is good too.

Newby question guys, getting my car on Thursday, it has Innodrive & cruise control, and also the Parkassist with surround view, does this mean that the dash cam is incorporated ? cheers

Naa I have all those options and no dash cam, you need to select dash cam preparation when speccing the car, then buy and fit the dash cam from dealer once you get your car.

Nice one thx for clarifying the image quality and the hardwire warranty problem. Looked into it and the 970 without LTE fit my needs :like:
