One of the problems owing a special car in the UK. My wife finds it funny that I spend money on cars just to "drive around in circles".
Luckily I don't need to park in a car park very often.

Most things, food shops, market, nice enough restaurants and pubs are within walking distance.

If I go into Oxford city centre the bus is more convenient than a car unless I have something hard to carry.

Most car journeys are going into the countryside or visiting friends and relatives :)

I won't use mine if I am going to have to park in a carpark.
I am keeping our Prius PHEV for that, at least I can usually still open the doors in a standard UK parking space in that, The Porsche probably not.
Thankfully I've had nothing as bad as when I drove a 3dr Sierra Cossie around Liverpool (my home town) in the late '80s. Leaving it unattended meant a high probability of broken window and steering column damage...though fortunately none of the scallies figured out there was a hidden fuel pump switch (a £5 investment that was more effective than all the installed alarm systems).
(More painful though was being accused of being a Yuppie...I was just a scruffy young man who was lucky enough to ride the first home computer games boom.)

I had a chipped RS500 which I only used for fun - which it was!
One late night dash across country I thought I had blown the engine up but I had hit the rev limiter in top gear...
It was a fast car but too laggy to be fun for everyday use- like all turbos I have ever tried.

With the new Oxford emissions restrictions you may find the centre parking quite empty soon when they ban all ICE and Hybrid cars there! Only all electric vehicles will be allowed in.

I don't get it...Plenty of Americans that placed deposits in December or January '22 getting deliveries in April, yet you're waiting 12 months and I will have been waiting the same (at this rate).

The US seem to have more allocations available compared to the UK, mainly due to the high take up rate in the UK compared to what dealers in the UK requested for allocations (before they knew it was going to be so popular here). UK tax benefits are what's driving the unexpectedly high demand here. Others will be picking up dealer pre-ordered cars and not necessarily custom orders in the US.
I must say that Frank has had to wait an unusually long time compared to everyone else (UK) that I have noted in this forum. I am glad he has got it now.

Oxford, stayed in the prison there recently, great experience. Also, shopping center car park had loads of EV chargers, actually saw 4 Taycans. Am getting the saloon so a little biased but the CT looked great but absolutely huge.

Hi folks - newbie member following the excitement of finally placing an order...
Have ordered a GTS ST - been given an ETA delivery of November....2023. I'm sure it will be worth the wait - but blimey, its a long way away.

Did you spec the Rear Axle Steering ?
I didn't and that is the one option that I didn't spec that I would definitely include if I were ordering again. Not having rear axle steering can't be blamed in this case though, I live in Brighton and a lot of the streets are a nightmare to drive down with how narrow they are and cars parked all down one side. My wife was trying to give enough room for someone to pass and went over too far. As @Discohead says, there's always a high risk of this happening just after you've bought the car and you're not used to it

I kerbed one of my wheels a couple of weeks back.
It happens on narrow UK roads.

I try not to let it bother me too much now (difficult!) and just get it repaired asap

How long has it taken others for their car to be transported to the showroom after it arrived in the UK? I was told mine had arrived in UK on 2nd but still don't have a date for when it'll be transported to the dealership.
