Does your 2020 Taycan with the latest software have Android Auto?

I'm taking my (new to me) 2020 Taycan 4S in for service tomorrow (in the USA) because it has the latest SW update but doesn't have Android Auto. I called before I purchased the car (used from BMW) and they said AA is only on '22 and newer Taycans but I've seen quite a few people here say they have AA on their 2020.

I'm hoping it isn't a regional thing and the USA 2020 Taycans just don't get it.

I don’t have MY20, but as far as i know, support for Android comes with uPdate to all taycans.

The BMW dealer is not clued up.

AA is and was intended for all MYs.

I have AA on my '21...so your BMW guy is wrong right out of the box! ^&%$

So Porsche Service told me that my car's software is up to date and different builds (options) have different software modules. He said they haven't gotten to mine yet and I should check back in a month or so. It sounded like a BS answer but he was the service manager so I assume he knows what he is talking about. What do you guys think?

Refer him to the press release I posted above which includes MY20 for AA. There is a chance that a firmware upgrade isn't possible.

do you have colored icons? if so. it is likely that your PCM has been updated..otherwise it has NOT

I do have the color icons but no Android Auto tile. When I get in the car a notification on my phone comes up saying Android Auto is available to see the car's screen, but there is no way to start it from the car. I've tried wired and wireless.

THAT tells me that the problem is likely a setup issue (and your PCM HAS been updated). I originally found Apple Carplay problematic to setup (but finally did it!). Suggest you play some more with AA (and research in this forum and elsewhere)..I suspect you will eventually get it (or perhaps the dealer has a "genius" that can help?)...

Thanks for the manual. I've done everything according to the manual with no success. I spoke to a sales person at Porsche last week who said he would check my vin for the modules that might be missing. Hopefully I hear back soon.

Hi, Did you get to the bottom of this? I have the exact problem as yours, but mine is 2021 Taycan 4S. I just got the color tile but no AA tile, my phone also show AA available but nothing is on the PCM screen.

Have you gone into the phone menu (tap the phone icon on the far right in the pcm) and enabled AA for your phone there?

I tried looking everywhere, no mention of AA in the PCM. My phone shows Taycan as AA available though. I suspected an incomplete uPdate was performed. Will ask the service technician to look at it.
