Done it - 4S CT J1.1 swapped for 4S ST J1.2

Loving it so far except for the seats.
I can't get comfortable in the 18-way adaptive seats, whilst the comfort seats were utterly perfect.
I must have a fat arse - the seat feels too tight at the top of the thigh / lower hip area.
I'll keep adjusting my position. And will also peddle harder and farther when I'm on my bike.

I moved from a Panamera with 18-way adaptive to a Taycan with 14-way comfort seats - even though the GTS had 18-way as standard whoever speced the car deleted them (or they weren't available at the time)! I loved the 18-way adaptive seats but I also find the 14-way comfort seats really good, too: very comfortable and adjustable every way I need/want. There's also the advantage they're not so huge so rear passengers don't have their forward view completely blocked.

Done it - swapped from a MY22 4S CT to a j1.2 4S ST.
Initial thoughts:

• Oak Green is amazing.
• 7% more range on my return journey in the j1.2 verses the outgoing journey min the j1.1. Different time of day and traffic, so not a scientific test. 3.2m/kWh in j1.2.
• Indicated range seems to be circa 50 to 70 extra miles. Very welcome. Won’t know for certain what the improvement is for a few weeks.
• Ride is significantly more harsh - harder ride, lots more road noise, it hates certain road surfaces. Not sure yet how much it’s down to being a ST, having 21” rather than 20” wheels and being on Goodyear rather than Michelin. I’l swap to Michelin once the tyres are battered and hope this improves it.

Overall, after just 2 hours of driving I’m very happy.

yours is just a j1.1 "base".

Also note in North America the ST only comes in the GTS trim and all other wagons are CTs with AWD.

I had a loan car, new Taycan 4s and i own first generation 4s, a few things I observed whilst i had the car for a few days

* Range is definately better and i would agree on a full charge between 70-90 miles
* My car has 21" but loan car had 20", the ride is harsher on 21" than 20" it was noticeable. but my preference have the harsher ride as the car looks better in my opinion on 21".
* Inside minor changes but the infotainment was alot quicker and connected very quickly to my phone.
* Overall not much in the two cars except range and the infotainment improvements.

My car is 2 years old and when it hits or just before it's third birthday, i will definately be considering a new Taycan but with 21" wheels.

For non car enthusiasts the cars are the same to look at, friends of mine didn't even notice it was a Generation 2. The other option I will be looking at is the Cayenne EV, very different car but it's a consideration, especially if the range and infotainment is as good as the new Taycan.

I hope Porsche manage supply and second hand EV sales better, so we dont see the big depreciations. I read the other day a Taycan is worth 33%, in three years from new. That in the UK brings it in the top 10 depreciating vehicles.

Saying all that I still enjoy my Taycan and for me it was the right car.

I'll probably need a few hundred miles to dial-in to it.

My local dealer said should be back end of 2025, with customer deliveres starting Q1, 2026. I have asked they contact me so i can at least test drive it. Has anyone else had any updates

Thanks. Got used to the seats now, they’re better than I first thought.
Loving the DC charging speed. Managed 25% in 6 mins last week.
Overall, it;’s a great car. Just like the last one, but a little bit better in a few key areas.

just upgraded to a j1.2 myself and I keep finding small but valuable improvements on top of the big headline changes (and, I hope, fewer bugs and better reliability). The charging setup is SO much easier than the J1’s mad combination of timers and profiles. I also found that they have put a track skip button onto the steering wheel - they forgot that in J1 and I had to waste a programmable button on it. For euro trips and hotels it is disappointing that they took away 22kW DC charging though.
