Wow the old battery is dusty - thats surprising to me.
We have winter, salt, dirt for several months per year. Apparently quite a bit of dirt gets in. however, the dealer noted that it is normal and the actual battery is hermetically shielded within the scaffolding.

I agree with your wife. I'm sure she would also point out few=3 or more, not just 3 ;)
I just asked her. She said 3 or 4. In any case, she doesn’t think a coupis 9.

For me, a couple means “there’s more than one and I don’t feel like counting.”

That was almost 10 years ago and I still hear about it constantly.

“I’ll be home in a couple of minutes.”

“Oh, a couple? So like 9?”

“…yeah”

Ok, battery swap done, however, while assembling everything back together they noticed that there was a plug of some sort with some oxidation. New cable has been ordered and should arrive next Tue.

So. The car is still at the dealer. After reconnecting the replacement battery, it got disabled again. So they came to a conclusion that the battery was not the real issue (good news for most Taycan owners). The bad news is that the onboard diagnostics system was unable to determine the cause - only the malfunctioning parts due to the cause were having errors. Factory suggested to rip out the guts and check manually various components to find the source. Latest hypothesis is that the rear engine control unit is having issues and causing problems down the line. New unit ordered and will be replaced some time in future. Time at dealer 5 months. Already one month not my car, but I will update this thread, as I am curious how this will
end eventually.

Assuming by you saying "one month not my car" that you ended up lemon-ing the car? That's ridiculous.

Well. Sort of. Had put 22.5k km on it, so it was not 100% refund. It was buyback at market price (assuming car actually works) (which in my market is not above msrp but about 18% below). Got this one as a replacement with some extra discount https://www.taycanforum.com/forum/threads/moving-away-from-4s-to-911.10904/post-158512

So all in all, reasonable solution, for the epic situation.

Yes I remember now that you changed! Love that 911 even if it is a different car. Good solution for you in the end, congratulations.

Would also be interested in hearing about the resolution of the fault in the end if possible.

Thanks for the clarification, I do remember seeing that other thread now. I definitely wouldn't be mad at a Carrera Cab!
