Compare to a 2021 Turbo S with 14k mi being offered for $119K here in ATL for what you get. Not a ton of difference in the actual hardware you enjoy day-to-day. I don't know the build on yours vs. it, but just an indication of depreciation lately for the Turbo and Turbo S variants. Keep in mind that you're paying 'market value', not below, so it's only going to go down from there and pretty quickly given the spec. My 2021 Turbo was $185K new and I paid $161K when it was 18 month old as CPO, but it lost about $50K in value in this year that I have owned it. Not fun for under 2k mi of driving. (I know, I know... I need to drive it more!)

15% off is a great deal but as others said 20% should not be unreasonable where things stand with the market since you can say you do not like the color and would not use the options that are on it. I only got 4% on a build to order 2023 Turbo and I had to wait 13 months to get it. I wanted everything to be exact so I was not looking at a used market.

20% off in the current market, and agree on a price in writing before saying whether you're paying cash or financing. Keep some cards close to your chest.

What battery does the car have (do you prefer the standard battery or performance plus battery)?

Turbo S... only comes with the larger battery, no?

At one point I was offered $30k off a $160k MSRP Audi eTron RS GT -- so basically the nearly same car (I think the Turbo/S and the RS eTron GT share enough to be called an apples to apples comparison). Of that discount I do think a few grand was a Costco benefit, FYI. Based on that, I was 20% off MSRP; didn't buy as the color was not my preference. Ended up with a used Taycan 4CT -- but I digress.

I think you should be able to get closer to 20% off MSRP right now in this market. As others noted, a 1yr old car of the same specs seem to be fetching easily 25% depreciation on the retail/used market, especially if a CPO. I'd push for a touch more.

PS: Here in Ohio you only save sales tax trading in for a new car. My tax rate in my county is 8% -- so if I had a $50,000 trade on a ~$200k purchase (new), I'd save $4,000 making my trade-in effectively $54k value. However in Ohio that is not applicable to used cars, giving the new car some advantage. Something to consider, if New York is the same.
Audi did have $12K off factory (on top of dealer discounts) incentives on eTron GT for a while (might still have them). The $12K helped to bring dealer + lease incentives + Costco above $30K off. I don't think I've seen Porsche advertise any such factory incentives except for lease ones, at least not yet.

Incentives on an RS E-Tron GT are over $37k and dealers will discount it as well.
The leases are unbelievable for the Audis

It’s not bad but like others have said I would shoot for 20%. I would really try to push you into a lightly used CPO Turbo S. It’s one thing to order the car exactly as you want it but in this instance you are already just choosing an already specked car. If it’s the perfect car and you don’t mind loosing 100k in two years go for it. I guess it also comes down to how long you keep your vehicles. If this is a forever vehicle then go for it. However if your like me and switch out every 1-3 years go used.

Hey All. New to the forum. Looking at MY'24 Turbo S, well spec'd. Dealer offering 15% off sticker for EOY purchase or lease. Curious what you all think here. Here are some of the specs:

- Black on black
- Innodrive
- Massage seats
- Burmester stereo
- Night vision
- Pretty much all packages...

$231k sticker. $196k 15% off.
no great bargain, you'd be paying for a lot of stuff that is not very useful. At best, this seems like fair market value. You could get a new GTS for a lot less money, some would say it is a better car, if you check on porschefinder you'll see what is available right now in your geographic region-and remember, dealers trade

Complicated decision. The Turbo S offers very little more than the Turbo unless you are in launch mode. Personally I would not spend $200,000 and get anything other than exactly what I want. If you are willing to compromise on the exact specs I would side with the CPO camp. Your $196k discounted car is worth significantly less once you drive off the lot. If the market price is $196 for new what's the market for used today? You are also looking at what is probably the last model year before a refresh of the Taycan. There's just a little more depreciation in your future.

Personal perspective rather than monetary but after living with my car for a year I have found that there is a lot that needs to improve for me to buy the refreshed version in a couple of years. It's a great driving car but it is not a great EV/connected vehicle. Another factor favoring a CPO. Spend less now and see what improvements are made in a year or so.

Hey All, I'm new to the forum.
In June I purchased a well-equipped Taycan RWD registered in December 2022 at 0 km from a Porsche center with a 30 percent discount on the list price. To this day I still think it was a good deal!

If it’s spec’ed the way you want, consider it.

One of the big problems with buying off the dealer lot is that everything is white paint, black leather, has the glass roof and not a lot of options. The used/CPO market is pretty much the same, it’s mostly white, or black, and occasionally a red interior in the mix. Can you be happy with cookie cutter boring dealer choices, if the right choices for you are also included?

This isn’t a rhetorical question. It’s the essential question about spending possibly a lot less money and living with someone else’s choices. It can be a tough call unless your priorities are already fixed.

Thanks for everyone’s feedback. Here’s my take…

The 15-20% off MSRP seems to be fair market value for the Turbo S IF (BIG IF) you are set on a new car as opposed to going CPO.

Because of heavy depreciation beyond what was originally expected the new car market is slowing down, hence the above, so short term owners take an even bigger punch.

the Turbo S is the belle of the ball, but others are right there, especially under typical driving conditions.

For the Turbo S it’s unlikely that a dealer spec will match with what a buyer at that level wants making existing inventory sit longer.

For me there’s a “want” involved in the new Turbo S. Always wanted a Turbo S model and the 911 doesn’t work for me practically speaking. Additionally, having had the RS e-tron GT and now the M8GC I have a desire to get back to electric and enjoy a smoother ride than the BMW while actually upgrading power slightly.

On the new vs CPO side that’s a “know what you’re getting into” decision, which I do. I prefer a car that’s only been mine and will pay for it.

So I’ve made my deal. Slightly better than stated above and better on my trade too. I’m happy and look forward to picking it up on Wednesday.

As far as spec goes, it’s pretty close to perfect based on what I’d have build with exception for the seat color. I’d have perhaps gone brown but will be happy with the black.

Appreciate everyone’s thoughts and advice and look forward to sharing insights after taking possession.

Really good point and I was typing my note above as your comment came in.

My M8 is frozen gray with black and red full merino leather and alcantara mix. It’s very much and exotic spec and screams “look at me,” which I’ve enjoyed. I also put the Akrapovic exhaust in which is over the top incredible but it enhances that look at me situation.

So now that that’s out of my system, lol, I want more of an “if you know, you know” car. The metallic black paint and dare I say “sleeper” quality of the Turbo S is perfect for where I’m at on this.

Hope that makes sense.
