well I have learned something. I thought the rads were transmitting a speed signal but it appears the car cams are working it all out from the signs. Magic
Similar but opposite end of the spectrum with my wife's car. Just as our village turns in to a 50mph zone there's a home made sign with two 10mpg red circles saying "beware of horse riders". her car slams on the brakes when using the speed limiter, catches us out a lot. The home-made red "10" circles are only small too but the car interprets them as real signs. The taycan does too, but I rarely use the speed limiter because it gets it so wrong so much of the time

Similarly, watch out for any signs changed from a 30 to an 80!

Just looking for a general opinion - not legal advice.

Driving on M25; are in adaptive cruise. Monitors speed limited and adjusts. Works beautifully.

I am doing 70; overhead signage changes speed to 50mph about 200m infront. I am in auto mode, fully expecting car to detect and reduce speed to 50; but this does not happen. Unfortunately as I realise and brake hard passing the overhead gangway had fixed yellow cams that flashed me. Fully expecting to get a ticket.

Now the thing is, the signs changed but my only explanation as to why the car did not immediately respond was that the radar signals were not activated at the same time (or whatever it is that the cars use to detect the speed limit). Normally works beautifully.

Would you not expect the speed signalling systems to be activated at the same time as the signage changes and that the new speed is registers further up the road to allow for speed changes to take effect in time.

Kinda feeling hard done by here.
Sounds like the issue there might be that the interval between notification and speed change was designed to enhance revenue collection rather than safety.

You can't rely on the cameras for speed limits imo.

There is a 60mph road near me (just off a motorway) and the car never sees the sign and continues to display 70mph.
It only changes when you get to the next village with a 40 mph sign.

Happened in my Taycan, same in my BMW.

well its been 2.5weeks and no letter yet
NIP has to arrive within 14 days IF you are the registered keeper on the V5. If rented/leased/etc the 14 days applies to the registered keeper who then forwards details to plod who then re issue NIP.

Good luck.
