In fairness to them, they must have been reassured that the mains supply would be available and it can’t be. I wonder how many sites there are like that ?

is that the issue? they've built a massive number of chargers just off the M1 and there's no leecy supply?

I don't know for sure but they wouldn’t have incurred all the cost and then not get any revenue. The MD, of I think Moto, said some time ago that they couldn’t get the required supply at their service stations.

We’ve been discussing over at SpeakEV the possible extension of parking restrictions proposed by Hilton there on Faceache.

Although it looks like it shouldn’t be included according to IONITY.

Very nice site, with the entrance to the IONITY area just as you enter the boundary of the hotel site, so nicely separated from hotel business. When I visited last Tuesday in the early hours, there was no need to do anything with regards to parking payments; as long as you stick to the IONITY area and don't go past the parking tariff sign towards the hotel, you're golden. However, a few days ago, the Hilton Leicester said on Facebook they were changing the rules, and you will now have 30 minutes free access to the IONITY chargers, but any more than that will be subject to a parking charge, which is an absolute disgrace. Nothing more than money grabbing, the shameless ragamuffins.

I used ionity at a M20 service station recently. The one near Leeds castle. the chargers are based at a petrol station. THe station has signes about limited parking for 30min but when I spoke to the attendant they said it didnt apply to EV charging. 30min is not enough at all. Poor show on Hilton

Seems that it could be a misunderstanding. Will wait for @Throb to elaborate further, but an employee from IONITY has made it known that the chargers should not be in scope of the parking restrictions / limits that apply in the actual carpark…

I’ve used that site many times over the last few years and I’ve never noticed the sign, but I’ve also never received a parking fine.

I sent a detailed DM to the IONITY guy, and I also mentioned the vague situation at Dartford, which I also used twice last week. He said he would speak to the manager to clarify the situation. I’ll pass on any info I receive.
