Hello lovely people, I have been offered a March slot for my ST GTS, I wasn't expecting it until after July, happy days, I'd rather have one now than be in the grey area of MY23 or wait for the facelift.

I think I've done the spec to death over the last 10 months but attach it here if you would like to check or critique it for me.

https://www.porsche.com/microsite/porsche-code/default.aspx?c=/PPUESTZ1

I have spec'd ACC because my understanding is that I then get the sensors for Innodrive that can be added later OTA - is that correct?

The biggest decision is colour, need to decide between Mamba and Carmine but I don't expect help with that :)

Firstly congratulations on getting an earlier allocation. I collected my Taycan Saloon GTS on 21 January 2023.

in terms of your spec, it’s brilliant. I personally would take out the laminated/insulated glass. The car is super quiet and the extra cost of this option isn’t justified in my view. Moreover, the cost of replacement is super high.

I went for Head up display, Massage seats, keyless entry, four zone climate, passenger display etc. personally having now had the Car For nearly a month, I think they are a waste of money and I wished I had saved myself the near £5k.

the one option I wished I did tick: Burmeister system. The Bose is simply ‘average’.

Spec looks good. I went with Carmine, looks great (thanks confirmation bias)!
I also went with the standard GTS interior, which is excellent, but I would recommend adding in red seatbelts and a red chrono clock face. Just that little splash of colour really helps lift the interior.

With a bright exterior colour such as Carmine Red, I love that the interior is a slightly muted version of the same colour scheme.

It makes a nice change to see informed recommendations to not take options- these sort of threads usually escalate towards every possible option, in every colour :)

I'd personally add the variable light roof, for the occasional sunny day, and the roof bars if you ever want to use a roof box on the thing
I would like to recommend a big NO to this option unless you want a major headache instead of a headcover for a sunny day.

We have a local GTS delivered in August with this option and one panel would not turn off requiring roof replacement, and still waiting on it. So the choice is to go around with all of it ON or one random panel on. I tried its function, and it barely blocks the sun and just clouds it a little.

Also, another customer from Australia on this forum having same issue with roof replacement imminent.

I am glad I was able to delete it from my build after I learned about all this.

Exactly what I did on my RWD Carmine build as well :). And @SteveGTS Just do the carmine buddy, it won't disappoint.

Almost the same spec as mine on order. I'm going full Innodrive and no park assist, no sound insulating glass, no 4 Zone climate. I also have ambient lighting, bike rack pre and rear luggage net. Otherwise same as my spec.

Colour is a personal think. Both colours you have chosen are excellent choices.

thanks. I don’t but into philosophy that you have to tick every option - Just what’s right for you. On reflection I would have chosen differently and it will help with future Porsche orders being much more focussed on options!

Oh yes, HUD - the car I drove on the experience day had this and I thought it was good, maybe delete the glass for this option. Thanks

Nice build! Here are my thoughts for you to keep or toss ...

Consider dropping four-zone climate. My 2022 RWD doesn't have it, and the few times I've had passengers in the back seat they were fine with the climate.

Yes you need the ACC for Innodrive.

No heated steering wheel? No puddle lights for those rainy days and cool factor?

As others said, consider getting red seat belts and a red chrono clock face. Contrasting stitching? You're driving a GTS, after all.

You’ve picked the ‘normal’ recommendations (rear wheel steer etc) and avoided most of the non-essentials (head-up display, variable light roof etc) which is very wise!

I’m not sure about your planned usage, but you could probably ditch the 4-zone climate too.

If you do decide to go for Mamba external colour, my suggestion would be to make the car fairly unique and add Mamba contrasting stitching.

if not, I’d recommend the GTS interior pack in Carmine red to match the exterior, but that’s very much a personal preference.

Sports chrono waste of money. Looks crap.
Rear steering
Dimming and folding mirrors
4+1 seats
All red in and out as a homage to Satan
Minimum 21" wheels. The rest are crap
Air suspension waste of money unless standard.
RWD is the best Taycan
Big battery ?
150w on board charger for non U.S. and Tesla supercharger
Bose
Grey tint windscreen
Matrix lights
Blackened rear windows
Ceramic brakes
Panoramic roof waste of money as the people in the front get no benefit
HUD display. Must have
Carmine red. The only colour. Everyone else specs Bailey's Cream
360* view surrounded park assist
Automatic parking. It works great.
Porsche Tracker and an elite steering wheel lock

Too many people that don't have the variable light roof piss in it. I have it, I love it and it works great. Don't let anecdotes dissuade from this awesome option...

Good for you. I have seen it not working in person, and the owner is really pissed for real, so advising others to be cautious as risk is high and the fix is roof replacement.
