Agreed.
I was not expecting anything like that at all.
Instead, I experienced the best car delivery ever.
A bow? Branded pens? Dealership staff congratulating you? Yes, I took remember that Saturn tv ad.
Instead I got my Taycan delivered straight to my neighborhood, and parked it inside my garage at 3:30 in the morning for my wife to discover the next morning.
Now that is Special Treatment!

I suspect dealerships vary . Had a great handover at Colchester OPC . Flowers, car care kit, pen, flask meal in a hotel. Better deal on 992 Turbo S than Bristol OPC by £££££s sadly salesman at Bristol told me I would lose my ( fictional) place on a GT3 list if I didn’t buy locally. Oh well sod ‘em!

Bristol is part of the Dick Lovett group who are awful. Currently trying to buy a mini from them but getting the most appalling customer service.

My delivery was… fine? The car was covered and the reveal was nice. We received a soft-bound coffee table book (more of a magazine, really). A pen, two “okay” keychains… embossed with the dealer address. No flowers, no wine or champagne, no cool models or anything like that.

But then our SA proceeded to spend two+ hours with my wife and I going through a comprehensive tour of the car, systems overview, getting the secondary account setup, etc. As far as value goes, that was probably the nicest “gift,” actually. Then two days later he met me at an EA charger (on a Sunday morning, no less) to walk me through some of his tips and tricks.

So a bit of a mixed bag, but my SA was on point.
