Thank you for emailing Jonathan Mannell, interim CEO of Porsche Cars Great Britain (PCGB). Given the nature of Jonathan’s role, he does not always have the capacity to respond to customers directly and to ensure you receive a timely response to your concerns, Jonathan has kindly asked that I look into your query.

Firstly, I would like to begin by offering my deepest apologies that you feel you have had to reach out to our CEO, in light of your current quality concerns you have faced with your Taycan heater issue and your dissatisfaction with the loan vehicle you have been provided. I understand that when failures such as these occur, it can be of great disappointment and cause much unrest.

When purchasing a Porsche vehicle, our customers expect the very highest build quality, reliability and excellent all round performance. However, despite all the quality controls during the course of manufacture, regrettably on occasions, vehicle components do not perform to our high expectations and can spontaneously fail. I fully understand your frustration in the situation and have escalated your concerns to Peter Jiggins the Centre Principal at Porsche Centre Hatfield to ascertain a timescale of when the part will be available.

Once your Taycan is fixed, Porsche would like to look into providing a goodwill gesture for the overall experience you have received for both issues.

If there is anything further I can assist with please let me know.

Kindest regards

Sara Hammond

That sounds like a standard stock legal BS letter they pull from a file! I find it interesting they close with the goodwill gesture but do not share what the gesture is!

Maybe she has to dig through the bottom of her handbag to see whats she has. Oh let me see, a piece of gum..no, a hair clip...no oh here it is a Porsche key chain and pen.

I'm on day 10 of driving a base Macan. Dealer tells me Porsche has been delaying releasing the part to them, which normally indicates that a newly revised part has already been spec'd and they don't want to put out any more parts made prior to the revision. The delay sucks but hopefully prevents me from having a recurrence of the issue. After pressing them, the dealer admitted they've had at least one "repeat customer" on the heater failure. Not good.

The principle at the dealership told me that they expect the first batch of heaters next week over from Germany, however, not sure on how many. Also there are few other Taycan’s ahead of mine that have the same issue and need repairing, so the timeline is fairly fluid….

Just dropped off my 22RWD for a failed heater. They said it would take at least a week and wouldn’t have any loaner cars available until the end of February. It sucks only have one Porsche dealer in my market (Las Vegas).

YES!! Though I had got away with this, especially as the car is garaged overnight. But NO pre-heat this morning Brrr… ..drove straight to my suppling OPC (Porsche South London) – they immediately took it in to workshop for diagnosis as it could either be heater failure or an issue with ventilation A/C /heating dampers but confirmed heater failure part ordered They will repair while I wait once they get the new heater – 1 to 2 weeks. For me at the moment the fault seems intermittent and that combined with heated seats /steering wheel means I’ve decided to keep the car rather that have an Enterprise pot luck car!
Change of plan today as too cold without heating, although typical as I arrived at my destinations the heating started to work briefly! Going to drop off at dealers tomorrow and take pot luck with an Enterprise medium premium apparently !

My heater died in December. Four weeks for an appointment with a loner car. They wouldn't order the part without inspection. Four days in the shop, then "your heater element failed". The part is backordered "3 weeks". Another appointment at the end of February to get it fixed. At least I live in California where it's tolerable to drive with just heated seats...

Add me to the list, boys. Heater crapped out today. Dead of winter is Wisconsin. Awesome….! Called dealer and will be taking in on Thursday. Need to scan and then order part. Will let you know what kind of turnaround I get after that. I suspect 2-3 weeks based on what my tech said…

Dropped mine at the Dealer yesterday. Told me they have fixed 6 others.
Confirmed today that they have ordered a new heater and to expect 2-3 weeks.
Loaned me a Macan for the duration
