Help me choose which option

I am looking to chose between 2 2022 Taycans, both RWD and the same 20 inch wheels, premium package and the only major differences are:

1) Taycan 1 has ACC (adaptive cruise control) with coil suspension and the smaller battery

2) Taycan 2 has air suspension (no ACC), the larger battery, 19.2kw onboard charger and is also $8k more expensive

for my use case, the regular battery works for me and I have only test drive a 4s which has air suspension so don’t know how the coils will compare. Any feedback is greatly appreciated.

I don’t know if you can have any benefits from 19.2kw charger (i can use mine 22kw), but i’d definitely go with Pb+ and air suspension.

Can’t pick which option is better for you, but I’ve test driven the the RWD, 4s, and gts, and all had the air suspension. It makes the car handle great!

I use my air suspension all the time to change ride night so I don’t scrape at all of the crappy, steep entries and exits to shopping centers and businesses in Austin.

I have air suspension on my CT4, but had a coil RWD as a loaner for a few days. I've always been a believer in air on a big, heavy EV, but was surprised by the quality of the ride on the RWD. Could live with it easily.

I would miss ACC much more.

There are plenty of reviews that suggest the standard coils are very good. In my case (UK) I could only get RWS if I went for air (tight turns in London streets) but I briefly test drove coil and it seemed fine to me. I’d go for bigger battery though but that’s my view. I think it also depends on whether you are planning to keep for over 4/5 years.

Thanks everyone, I plan on keeping the car for 3-4 years and never really use ACC much on my current car. I don’t need the bigger battery as I will probably drive 50-60 miles a day. If they both had the small battery I would take #2.
In essence I’m seeing if it is worth taking the larger battery just to get the air suspension and paying $8k in the process

I wouldn’t own a Taycan without air suspension. It’s incredible and the lift feature is one that I use regularly. Go for #2. Also, no one ever said “that electric car has too much range” so PB+ will definitely help out too.

can help you on that. Now, I don’t know about your roads, but in The Netherlands they are fairly decent. No big potholes and good quality in general.

I was on the fence about air suspension as well, so I drove one without and one with back to back. Result of my N+1 is that the air suspension is good, but marginally better than the standard steel coils which offer a very good ride as well. Way more so as you’d think.

it’s interesting to me as I think Porsche made the RWD so good, they had to limit the car in ways (i.e. horsepower, 0-60 feels limited) so that the rest of the gamma isn’t hurt by it.
