I am new to this forum and hoping to find answers to a terribly frustrating delivery issue. I ordered my 23 GTS in early December with an anticipated delivery of early March. When I ordered my Tycan I traded my 2017 Panamera knowing I would be without my car for 4 months. The “track my dreams” (now renamed Track my Nightmare) initially gave me a March 10th delivery. Production freeze, production start and production complete were on time. The current status is now released for transport and that was as of February 3rd. However, the tracking location of the car has been Emden since February 7th. Since then they continually push my “vehicle has left the port of shipment” back. This morning my date of departure has been moved back to 7/15 with delivery on 8/11.

* What could cause my car to sit in port for 5 months.
* By the time my car gets delivered, the MY24 will be in production and my car will have already lost value
* My panamara I traded had 12K miles, garage kept every night and was never driven in the rain. When I take delivery of my Tycan it will have sat outside in the salt air for 6 months (and probably have flat spots on tires)

I have heard all the excuses of 12V batteries, heaters and port labor issues, but does anyone have any further insight to why to why a $150K sold car cant get shipping priority over a VW Rabbit?

It is unlikely that you will ever get a satisfactory answer to your question. The best advice I can give you is to hang in there because the car is worth the wait…as compared to anything else you can buy this year. Myself (and many others) went through a similar wait last year. Be prepared to go through phases….from frustration to elation along the way. Porsche isnt good at customer-specific communication but they are good at creating a great driving experience in the end.

Problem with Porsche is lack of clarity (has always been an issue with them imo...they sometimes drop nuggets of helpful information, but it's rare for them to fully explain delays). All you can really do is wait or just purchase a car off the lot that's similar to your ordered spec.

Not that it makes you feel any better but lots of us on here have been waiting far longer. Mine will be over a year from order to delivery...and that's if it doesn't slip again, I've already lost 2 months in the last 2 weeks

Your car is sitting in port because it needs some part to complete it for shipping. Porsche has very little storage at the factory. I had a similar situation with a F150 I ordered last year, truck was build in May and sat until October because it was missing a module.. Finally shipped and received at the dealer in Nov. Its not just Porsche with the supply chain issues, still.

Factory model year switch over tends to happen the end of August after summer vacation. Sometimes later and depending model it has happened earlier. Porsche has no hard/fast set date for when the new model year starts. A refresh is anticipated for MY24, that might mean the switch over is pushed later into the fall. The car has yet to be shown.

Yours like mine is almost certainly sitting in a field waiting for an heater. A large number of cars came off the production line with no heater. The Porsche factory are keeping all it's customers in the dark but some have been told to accept a wait of 6 to 8 months. I'm in process of cancelling my order.

13 months wait for me if it makes you feel better
Not really. Wait times in Europe are about 4 months so waiting 6-8 months is pretty stupid.

My dealer has three nice Taycans in inventory and four more on the way. And they recently sold 2-3 they had on the lot.

I understand your frustration. I ordered 22nd December 2022. Got allocation around Jan 7th and expected delivery April 8th. Spec locked on end of January just to unlock soon after and my dates being pushed out about a month (now May 5th I think). I prepared myself for these delays as I've read this forum months ahead and saw people waiting well beyond a year for their cars.

However, I admit that any unforseen delay just kills the excitement no matter what. I know it's silly and that if I actually get a car by May I should be happy because it still will be less time than what the vast majority had to wait but it still kills the excitement. I was buying stuff for the car left and right (even wheels) and now I just stopped. Will wait until the key is actually in my hands. You just can't count on anything anymore.
