I ordered from a US supplier a while ago, mainly because they covered all areas including the rear AC panel. Very happy with them - they've been on 18mths.

Can't recall the vendor but if you search on here you'll find my post on it.
They're £94.45 n the UK.

I've spent a couple of months looking for some with little success. Just took delivery of some from the US (Screen Protector Tech). 2 sets delivered for less than that.
I assume you meant "Screen ProTech" from screenprotech.com. Those are wet-application films of unspecified material, unlike the dry-installation Brotect brand. Installation seems to me quite fiddly. For the PCM, front AC, and driver instruments (I don't need the latter, but there's no offering with just the two I want), with a backup "insurance" set, they're $99.42.

There are four varieties of Brotect protectors for the Taycan 2021* on the protectionfilms24 site: AirGlass Glass, AirGlass Matte Glass, HD Clear, and Matte. Which did you order? Are you still happy with them? Any installation tips for a klutz?
I just got the Brotect AirGlass Screen Protector for the Infotainment and the two rectangular screens. When I got them in 2022, that was the only option they had.

They have been on since 2022 and I have no issues with them. They are easy to clean and install. Installs just like a smart phone glass screen protector. You can remove them and re-install them if needed (just keep the surface of the screen protector free of dust and prints).

Shipping was fast and customer service was great.

They are those.

The wet (moist :)) application was straightforward and they haven't lifted etc.

Material is unspecified - at the time there weren't many options and the reviews of other rear AC protectors were poor, especially on fit (these fit well).

Fingerprints are reduced and thus far no scratches/issues.

I didn't want some of the pieces in the advertised kits, so contacted them and they did a customised set, omitting the ones I didn't want, adding a couple I did etc.

Thanks for the review; it's encouraging. However: "Installs just like a smart phone glass screen protector" raises an issue... For anyone wanting to follow me into the weeds, here's part of an email I just sent to protectionfilms24.com:
On the installation instructions web page,
there is a video and written instructions. The written instructions are to position the product on the device with the removable cover film side facing the device, and then to progressively peel back the cover film while attaching the protector.

In the video at 1:01 a white screen says, "Now peel the thin cover off ..." and then at 1:03 the model is holding the product separate from the device and starts to peel off the removable cover from the underside. Then at 1:07 there's a video cut to a different view which does not include the partially-peeled cover, but with an overlay saying, "Now peel the thin cover film". Then at 1:12 there's another cut to the continuation of the peeling, but now the cover is being peeled off the *upper* side.

How many thin removable covers are on the product, only one on one side or two, one on each side?

There is one layer of film on each side of the screen protector. They are slightly smaller than the actual screen, so you can be off a slight bit and still be okay. They are easily removable as in the video if you need to reposition or clean lint from the underside.

I installed the three-piece Screen Protech last week. Get the anti-glare one it’s almost anti fingerprint. You do need to turn up the screens brightness as films dim the screen a little bit. $78.47 USD total. I say it’s worth it XD

I applied the Porsche screen protector. It diminishes the scratch enough that I can probably live with it.

I was supposed to be in an E-Boxster by now, sigh.
So at least you dropped your phone on your old car screen, instead of the new e-boxter. A glass half full perspective. ;)

Is there some reason to believe that the anti-glare variety is more fingerprint-resistant than the HD one?

Reference to this video. This guy had the HD version then switched to anti glare for fingerprint. Anti glare give you semi matte finish.

(Context for onlookers: this is about the BROTECT AirGlass protectors.)
I infer then that the provided phone-oriented instructions to "hinge" one edge, hold the other edge away from the screen, and progressively apply the protector while peeling back the underside film need not be followed? Because in the Taycan there's no way to make such a "hinge" using tape tabs that wrap around to the rear of the device as you can with a phone or with, say, a Tesla. So the protector with its rear film entirely removed can be positioned and applied?

Just installed a Brotect matte protector on the lower screen.

Dead easy to do, and although doesn't quite cover edge to edge, it looks very smart imho.

I've not taken off the factory screen films yet from the PCM / passenger or driver display.

Will consider my options for those now.

Any suggestions for US based orders? I want to protect the HVAC console screen with non-matte.

This is deep enough to catch a fingernail.

Is this screen plastic or glass? Do you think it can be polished?

Man I hate this
image.jpg
@DerekS - I was trying a magnetic phone holder that mounted to the left side of the screen, but periodically my hand or knee would dislodge it and the iPhone would slide across the screen, and each time made slight scratches. I didn't notice the scratches right away, but when I saw them my heart sank and I took the phone holder off and began researching how to remove scratches from glass.

I found something that worked incredibly well. In fact so well that all my scratches are gone. Here is what I posted at this link and repeated below.

UPDATE #2 -- So I researched how to remove "fine line" scratches from glass, and found this approach --

Toothpaste Method

  • Use plain white toothpaste, preferably one with baking soda or formulated for whitening (avoid gel types).
  • Clean and dry the scratched area.
  • Apply a small amount of toothpaste to a soft, damp cloth.
  • Rub the toothpaste into the scratch using small, circular motions with gentle pressure for about 30 seconds.
  • Wipe away the excess with a clean cloth and check the scratch. Repeat as needed until the scratch diminishes or disappears.

Works like a charm. Here is what I used as toothpaste, and for follow-on cleaning. Also, I worked on the screen from the passenger's seat so as not to cause the screen/car to turn on.

Now here is an interesting new fact. I was driving on the I-405 and the truck in front of me hit a bump dislodging some very fine stone fragments. One of them hit my windshield near the center of my vision and made a very small pit. When I had a chance I tried to clear it off but it was still visible. Then I remembered the toothpaste. I applied it in a circular pattern and rubbed with medium pressure. After a while the distinct nature of the pit sort of faded away. Now I can drive without being distracted by that.
