Just wondering if any solution was found. OI had been working fine for 6 months or so but now either doesn’t start or overruns, and I end up with no charge or being charged peak rate, as it hasn’t charged in it’s generated window. Spoke to octopus and have a case raised but no solutions yet. I have a pod point set to manual with no timers, no timers/ profiles set in car ( unless OI creates encodes), and last 4-6 weeks has been proper random. Can’t rely on it at all. Charging plan created ok, just doesn’t stick to it!

removed car and reinstalled as octopus advised, made no difference.

Understand I could make everything dumb but even when I do this the OI kicks in and buggers things up. Only way to stop it controlling the car is clear profiles/ timers, put it in privacy mode and use a timer on the podpoint. Right pain.

Really want to use OI as benefits the house rate and also if I need more than 6 hours it charges the whole battery all at the cheap rate.

Any ideas appreciated.

It appears your wallbox is not supported by Octopus so you're stuck with trying to get Octopus working with the Taycan integration - I tried that but same as you I found it unreliable. Fortunately I have a Zappi wallbox which is supported so my charging is controlled by Octopus through that. That said I know others here on the forum have the car integration working well with OVO so maybe the problem is with Octopus.

How often do you need more than 6 hours? For me that is very rare (never) so I just leave my profile on 80% and have my EVSE only supply power in the 6 hour cheap window. Works great with no problems. If I did need >6 hours then I would need to use some higher rate electricity but with a bit of thinking ahead that doesn’t happen to me. Obviously if you are driving >100 miles every day then it might be different for you, but for me, disabling the smart charging and using the cheap window works well

Driving 100 miles every work day now. I have small 78kw battery so now In winter range isn’t great. Plus as said house benefits from cheaper rate if using OI.

Get disabling works for some, but for me, it isn’t the solution.

Just wondering how the issue in the original post on this thread was resolved: IO charging a Taycan using a Project EV wall charger? I have tried every combination of profile/timer/setup in the Octopus App, Apex charger app and PCM but nothing is working as it should. I think the problem is the Octopus app is only allowing me to set the car as the device (this means IO is setting timers in the Taycan PCM to set the IO determined charging schedule) but the Project EV wall charger in Plug and Charge mode is not compatible with the Taycan timers/profiles. I have seen it suggested on other threads that Octopus can set up the charger rather than the car as the device (but it is something they have to do rather than it being a user selection option) but I wondered if anyone had success with this particular combination of Taycan, IO and Project EV Apex wall charger?

Hi
1. My Project EV is set to work 24hrs per day
2. OI connected to the car (via Porsche login) so it can control
3. I have no timers etc apart from within OI
4. Works pretty much ok ....occasional time when left plugged in it'll charge to 100% instead but after 3 days plugged in has charged exactly as expected

Some screenshots attached

Hope that helps!

Thanks for the reply and the screenshots, really helpful. I think I have a different Project EV charger to you as I don’t have the option to set a plug and charge charging time. At least I know to stop trying!!

Happy to send further photos if required. Why don't you direct message me with your charger type and I can compare with mine?
