Is it likely this will open March 2024…….. it’s gonna be a busy one I’m guessing but really needed. Any further updates on completion dates ?
No. Only "March 24", as per IONITY's own press release a couple of weeks ago.

I drove past the Chippenham Ionity on Thursday but didn’t need a charge so didn’t, in the end, bother to try it.
It is the first time I have been near an Ionity charge station since I bought the car a year ago.
I can see Gretna Green being a possibility one day.

Chippenham is very busy lately. Used to always be able to dive in and get a really good charge speed for a few mins when passing.

Lately it’s been full regardless of the time of day. Maybe I’ve been unlucky

Updated the OP to add Dungannon (NI) on the construction list as of 2 days ago and also Manchester East which finally opened after almost a year.

I can't wait for Leicester to open. I use MK and it's getting worse and worse. I end up waiting for longer than i need a quick 5 mins charge to get home. It's now full of Polestars who have a discount rate with IONITY. People also have no concept of charging above 85% at a public charger and how ineffiecient it is. So frustrating that they only have 4 chargers.

I will provisionally add the 33 new Village Hotels / Ionity sites below (in alphabetic order) as announced on 12 September. As more details become available I can update / edit this post.

Aberdeen

Basingstoke

Birmingham Dudley

Birmingham Walsall

Blackpool

Bournemouth

Bracknell

Bristol

Cardiff

Chester St David's

Coventry

Edinburgh

Farnborough

Glasgow

Hull

Leeds North

Leeds South

Liverpool

London Watford

Maidstone

Manchester Ashton

Manchester Bury

Manchester Cheadle

Manchester Hyde

Newcastle

Nottingham

Portsmouth

Solihull

Southampton Eastleigh

Swansea

Swindon

Warrington

Wirral

There will be 70 Ionity sites in the UK total - the existing 22, the 16 variously in construction and the 33 new Village Hotels sites. The rough timetable, if it can be believed, for the Village Hotels sites (compared to the average Ionity construction time in the UK), is very aggressive indeed.

All these sites to be operational by 2024.
Nice. We have 12 Ionity EVSEs within 4 miles of me now and not yet operational. When they are that will bring the total HPC cluster to 18 within the same retail park.

Feast or famine comes to mind!

The Village Hotels sites are now variously in planning too and some others which aren’t yet on the IONITY tracking website.

I’ll update the OP shortly. ?

Edit:
76 Ionity sites in the UK total:
- 24 opened
- 17 variously in construction
- 2 in planning and
- 33 new Village Hotels sites (planning)

What's most frustrating is like @Gnasher said about Polestars, every EV now seems to come with an Ionity discount. Our new Mini is due soon and comes with discounted Ionity so all that's happening is that more people are seeking out cheap rates and Ionity can't keep up the pace of expansion.

My local one is a short detour from any major route and simply isn't worth it anymore, it's easier to charge at a more convenient location at a slower rate/higher charge than waste time sat waiting while people trickle charge to 100%.

I understand the mini brand with the BMW link (part owner of IONITY) but this should be a premium brand charging service and not a free for all as it makes the "perk" pointless!

I'd be keen to see the split in the ownership of IONITY as BMW get a lower rate of 26p (we get 30p) BUT only for a year.

I mean no disrespect but if IONITY are trying to profit by selling on to Hyundai and Volvo etc then what's the point!?

I think your point about knowledge about charging is the real issue here. Like so many complaints from US about Bolts occupying 350 kW chargers unnecessarily, there is a real lack of information from dealers.

Probably also a lack of interest from the EV drivers, perhaps due to many being company cars. The old mindset of needing a 100 % full “”tank”” is still there.

Porsche has a discount and so do many others brands, which I think is great, if and only if Ionity monitor use and expand as needed. It is not like US where there are 3 years free charging. But in the Porsche Charging Service you also have both Allego and BP now around Milton Keynes, so there are alternatives around. Maybe also some Tesla SuC. And with those services it is not so much more expensive if you only require 5 minutes of charge.

We are not only depending on Ionity and I do not think it will ruin the Taycan owners if they ever so often use other charging services now and then??

How busy is the recently opened one in West Bromwich on a Sunday?
I usually use Porsche Wolverhampton on my way home from N Wales but it is shut on a Sunday.

I tried to find it on Sunday. I did, I think, catch sight of it after driving by twice, I saw no signage though and it was only my daughter looking for a picture on the phone that made me think we may have spotted it on our way past. Anyway it was on a busy road without easy places to turn round, so I didn't bother to go back. The petrol station next door was well signed and impossible to miss from hundreds of yards before one got to it, The Ionity station had no signs I saw and up a dark cul-de-sac.
