Mine is in a menu, but your A/C view is very different from mine in general? Is that a Model Year thing? Not my picture, it's from a YouTube video, but identical:

No idea why mine is different. The picture you referenced seems the same as the PCM simulator (see below). I did accept some PCM OTA update a couple of weeks ago, but nothing in the description talked about updated climate control screen. I honestly don't remember whether I ever had the screen like below from the simulator (I've only had this car since February).

Maybe my expectations are off from my Tesla days, but I assumed everyone gets updated to the same software via OTA, give or take a few weeks.

I was thinking maybe it's the 4 zone climate control, but I see that you, like me, have the "Rear" tab on the screen, so I assume we both have it, and that's not it...
Correct, I do have 4-zone climate control. Also heat pump option, but I think that's standard on most if not all trims in the US, so you probably have it too. Can't think of any other HVAC related Taycan option.

What is your software version? Mine is below:
Porsche Taycan Ionizer always on? 1686601022589

Comparing this against the online simulator which seems to have your UI, my UI is the same release number but built 2.5 months later (still, well over a year ago).

EDIT: I also notices the submenu on mine is called "Version information" while in the simulator it's "Software information", so definitely some UI differences.

That could explain it. I have 4 zone climate control as well. Thanks.

Given that mine is a 2021, I now think you both have a newer interface, which is apparently tied to the hardware. Wonder why they changed it... Does that mean the actual A/C functionality changed? Presumably, because otherwise why have two different interfaces?

Or, notice that the release number is the same for all these builds (only build date changes), with new and old climate menu. So perhaps Porsche just dropped the ball on rolling a version number, so OTA doesn't see it as an update. Perhaps everyone will get a new Climate menu once the version changes and a the new version is distributed via OTA. Or am I way overestimating Porsche OTA capabilities?

@tchavei , your UI doesn't show the ionizer button. As far as you know, is your car equipped with the ionizer?

No it isn't. Unfortunately it wasn't an available option before locking date. I'd love the smell of ozone in the morning ?

No, I've got the exact same software versions as you, the only thing that's different is the "Hardware" identifier (of which I don't know whether it's supposed to be a unique identifier per car, or whether it encodes various hardware versions; given that it's in the version screen, I suspect the latter).

I don't think the "release version" in front matters much, the fact that there's "SNAPSHOT" in the name makes it look like they stopped versioning this part like that, and it may be more of a remnant.

It's also not uncommon for firmware nowadays (which has become massive) to even contain multiple full UIs in the same firmware package downloaded to every device, and only use the one which matches the hardware version.

Also, I'm not entirely sure since I don't know your interface... but it seems that the (apparently) newer interface does a bit less? It's hard to say, maybe you can play around with the PCM simulator to confirm.

For example, in "Individual" I can give every one of those circles a different strength (a slider pops up when I select a circle), I can vary the strength of the *whole* zone between three strengths (the icon with the three "wind" lines in front of the person), and I can weirdly select between (translating) "warmer", "normal", and "cooler" for each zone (the icon with the thermometer in front of the person).

Plus there's the whole obvious thing about the "Focused", "Diffuse", and "Individual" presets.

In yours, it seems there are only two strengths instead of three, no "warmer/normal/cooler", and no Focused/Diffuse presets? Does the slider pop up when you hit a circle? Is the rest in a submenu maybe?

Maybe the previous hardware was too complex, and they had problems with it, so they replaced it with simpler hardware that does a bit less? Not that I've used those detailed options very much so far...

Oh, and also the fact that @tchavei's and the simulator's "Hardware" value are almost identical. That would be too great a coincidence.

But it's probably just the version or configuration of the overall "platform" or major things like that, the list of individual hardware modules would be crazy long and never fit in there.

That's probably the difference between single screen and dual screen PCM.

The fan strength sliders pop up when you tap one of the blue circles (in strong mode aka individual mode). In weak mode aka diffused mode, there's no sliders present.

Maybe. I believe the 070/092 encodes the region (because you and I both have 092, while @tchavei and the European-presenting PCM Simulator have 070), and that the second to last letter is an actual hardware revision (because my old Taycan has A, and you both have B).

Pure guesswork of course.
