I don't think the "release version" in front matters much, the fact that there's "SNAPSHOT" in the name makes it look like they stopped versioning this part like that, and it may be more of a remnant.
That would be very unusual. SNAPSHOT just seems like the build date. I wonder what qualifies as the next version. Notice that my car didn't get the October build via factory or OTA (it was build end of December).

Also, I'm not entirely sure since I don't know your interface... but it seems that the (apparently) newer interface does a bit less? It's hard to say, maybe you can play around with the PCM simulator to confirm.

For example, in "Individual" I can give every one of those circles a different strength (a slider pops up when I select a circle), I can vary the strength of the *whole* zone between three strengths (the icon with the three "wind" lines in front of the person), and I can weirdly select between (translating) "warmer", "normal", and "cooler" for each zone (the icon with the thermometer in front of the person).

Plus there's the whole obvious thing about the "Focused", "Diffuse", and "Individual" presets.

In yours, it seems there are only two strengths instead of three, no "warmer/normal/cooler", and no Focused/Diffuse presets? Does the slider pop up when you hit a circle? Is the rest in a submenu maybe?
My UI allows me to change strength of all the circles individually (slider pops up when I touch the circle). Comparing the two UI's come of functionality has moved, for example that "warmer/normal/cooler" actually applies to the driver or passenger footwell, that moved to the "..." button on the climate screen. Yes there seems to be only Strong and Soft, they also seem to serve as presets in terms of direction of the vents. Overall I don't see any functionality difference that would be caused by hardware (perhaps 2 speed HVAC motor instead of 3?).

There is one thing in the simulator which I noticed I am missing - haptic feedback from the main PCM screen:

Mine only shows sound feedback:

Out of curiosity, do you have the haptic feedback option for the main PCM screen (I still have it for the lower screen with hand writing pad).

The fan strength sliders pop up when you tap one of the blue circles (in strong mode aka individual mode). In weak mode aka diffused mode, there's no sliders present.
Interesting. So apart from the "cooler/normal/warmer" option, it seems like it's more just consolidated?

Not sure I understand that "cooler/normal/warmer" anyway. I directly set the temperature for the zone after all. Unless it also affects how soon the set temperature is reached (e.g. I want to cool down the car, but not as quickly so that the A/C air isn't too cold).

I think I get the sliders in both strong and soft mode.

It's the footwell differential, still there in the new UI, under the "..." button. Note the thermometer icon just like yours on the right side of the screen.

Nah, not really. They may at some point just have decided that tagging the UI version individually is superfluous.

SNAPSHOT just seems like the build date.
SNAPSHOT is normally not just the build date, it means that you take a build of how the source was *at that point in time*, but specifically indicating that the source code is not the same as the given release version anymore. It has moved on, but not been tagged as a new release yet.

In any case, it does not matter, since at least from what we can see from those screens, you and I really have identical software versions.

Ah, that makes sense. I actually missed that the feet were highlighted in the icon.

So, all in all I don't think I see anything missing or added... which makes this extra weird. EDIT: Forgot about the three speeds. But, eh...

The pcm has haptic feedback? ?

The lower screen does indeed but not the main pcm one. I'll check if there's some setting in a bit.

Ah. Maybe that, yeah...

Oh, interesting. I will check tomorrow.

Exactly, which is why I assumed this is just a "new and improved UI" and was surprised you didn't get it via OTA. Tesla does this all the time, then they upgrade everyone via OTA so unless someone is actively rejecting OTAs, they have about same UI as everyone else (except for hardware feature differentials which enable/disable parts of the UI).

Apparently, simulator has it under Settings->Displays->Center Display. Funny thing, I really like the haptic feedback on the bottom screen (even if it gives feedback when I press between buttons activating nothing), so was unpleasantly surprised to find that the other screens don't have the same.

I‘m in the car right now (waiting for something). No haptic feedback option for the center screen.

By the way, I thought so too with the center haptic feedback even when nothing is actually activated… but trying it out right this moment, it does not seem
to be the case after all?

If I press between buttons, or anywhere else where there is no UI element, there is no feedback whatsoever.

Maybe a recent update changed that?

While I’m at it, may as well post a picture showing that for me („old UI“), the Ionizer is in a separate tab named „Air Quality“.
