Hello fellow Taycan owners. I recently took the dip and swapped to Porsche and the Taycan after having a shot of one and loved it.
I’ve been driving the car for about six months now and love it.
However the one thing I’m wanting to know more about is the remote access function. I bought the car second hand from Porsche and I thought correctly or incorrectly that the access option was on it.
But after talking to someone at Porsche they sent me the options list of the car. I’ve spoken to them again and am still trying to confirm if the car has the hardware installed as standard and I can purchase the function through the app or if it was an option that had to be speced to have the hardware installed during the build? It’s a 2020 4S and I’ve attached the email with options speced on it.

if it does have the hardware installed as standard is there anyway of not having to pay £1300 to have it activated?

Any info/advice welcome ladies and gents

Your title says keyless entry, but email screenshot says you are looking for comfort access?
Keyless entry is via the My Porsche app.
Comfort access on the J1.2 is active ride raises the car a few inches when a door opens.
I don’t know how comfort access works on J1 cars, air suspension, I would think?

Log into the porsche connect store and select your car, if it shows you can do the FOD for comfort access / keyless entry, then your car should have the hardware but didn't spec it from the factory.

I have a MY2020, don't have keyless entry but it shows the option as a one time payment through functions on demand in the connect store. So I must have the hardware installed.

Hi yes I think that is where I may have some confusion with the guy I’ve been talking to at Porsche. Maybe he thinks I’m talking about the ride hight, where as I’m talking about the Auto Unlock, boot and frunk easy open option. So the keyless entry is what I’m talking about and I’m still unsure if it’s possible.
I can pre set certain suspension heights for instance when I arrive home and want to reverse onto my drive it auto lifts. But I can’t say it’s even auto lifted up when I return to it from say a car park or anything like that. However the seat and steering wheel do adjust when I turn off the car and open the door for easier exit.

If I do have the keyless entry I need to now see how I get round the £1200 odd payment 🤣

Hi yes I was under the same impression and I have checked the store and the option is there. However I think I have seen here on another thread that someone has been in talks with Porsche and also had a form that basically states if the car was speced with it and it was there before that it shouldn’t be charged for. I’m not tight but £1200 odd seems a bit steep for something that’s built into the car.
I’m also in talks with them trying to find out if and when I trade the car in for another one would that transfer over to the new car or would I need to pay again. Which I don’t think would be fair.

that isn't un option on J1. It doesn't do lift on entry, has never been an option.

Hi, ye to be fair I’m not bothered about that option anyway. It’s been misunderstood or conveyed to the Porsche guy by me. It’s the keyless entry I’m trying to figure out. And how not to pay a chunk of cash for it 😋

just stumbled on this, feeling lucky to try that vctool app?
That looks very interesting. I will look into this as well. Hopefully find an English version of the video as I barely get by in English 😋

I get it in what I believe to be Russian? when I click on it.
Try copying the video link and run in a new tab (or just click on the youtube logo in the bottom right).

When I do that, the audio is set to Audio track (2) US English

Ok so I’ve watched it now with AI and I see what you mean 😊

so I guess it’s a service they provide as opposed to doing it yourself? I’ve looked up the vctool thing online and am not sure on what it would do. Have you looked into it much?

It seems like you also need to buy the FOD tweaker module at €100/piece or €400 for unlimited.
I don't feel confident enough to take that on, with my luck I'll just end up bricking the car :)

pretty sure you can hire someone to do it for you. Or get yourself PIWIS that plenty of people here can help directly where to get it from and use engineering mode to code it.
