Hi all,
We picked up our RWD Taycan on Thursday. We are based in UK.
Since handover, we haven't been able to login with our Porsche ID, therefore still driving around in Guest mode. The error we get is 'Login is not possible at present. Please try again later.'
The SOS light is lit green and the PCM screen shows LTE. The internet services do seem to be working as I can access the internet radio. I have tried the PCM reset (with the two fingers in upper right) but that didn't make any difference. (Apart from give a yellow battery warning on the main dashboard, which since cleared itself ;') ) Haven't tried the 12v disconnect, but this is not easy anyway as above the negative terminal, there is some sort of black plastic shroud which is holding the battery down, looks different to pictures I have seen on this forum.
On the app it simply shows the vehicle is in privacy mode, but even when this is disabled on the vehicle it doesn't change. Furthermore it goes back into privacy mode when the car is switched on and off. (Presumably because of guest mode)
This weekend just gone, the app was refusing to pull in any details of the car - with the old 'Connect' app saying there are no cars registered, and the 'My Porsche' app saying there was an error. I can see from the forum a lot of people had issues with it, it does appear to be working today though.
I can't see many people getting this message though. Could it be to do with that we are the second owners of this car, and the previous owners are still somewhere tied into it on the backend?
I spoke to the Porsche Connect team and they have just opened a ticket for further investigation.
We didn't have any of this problem with the old Porsche Connect app which was used for my 991.2 911. Even though that app was old and needed a facelift, it was bulletproof!
It's ashame because apart from these software issues, it is an amazing piece of kit, lovely to drive and lovely to look at even if its not working. I hope Porsche can hire some of Tesla's software team!!
Just wondering if anyone else can comment on this who has recently acquired a Taycan. Before anyone mentions that the dealer should have sorted this - they tried a few times on handover, but because I was pushed for time, and my 3 year old was jumping around, I told them I would try myself later, and report back to them if it still isn't fixed.
Lastly, when CarPlay is configured and active, does the car use the phones mobile connection or still use its internal sim card? For things like its own navigation, internet radio etc?
