Hi all,

We picked up our RWD Taycan on Thursday. We are based in UK.

Since handover, we haven't been able to login with our Porsche ID, therefore still driving around in Guest mode. The error we get is 'Login is not possible at present. Please try again later.'

The SOS light is lit green and the PCM screen shows LTE. The internet services do seem to be working as I can access the internet radio. I have tried the PCM reset (with the two fingers in upper right) but that didn't make any difference. (Apart from give a yellow battery warning on the main dashboard, which since cleared itself ;') ) Haven't tried the 12v disconnect, but this is not easy anyway as above the negative terminal, there is some sort of black plastic shroud which is holding the battery down, looks different to pictures I have seen on this forum.

On the app it simply shows the vehicle is in privacy mode, but even when this is disabled on the vehicle it doesn't change. Furthermore it goes back into privacy mode when the car is switched on and off. (Presumably because of guest mode)

This weekend just gone, the app was refusing to pull in any details of the car - with the old 'Connect' app saying there are no cars registered, and the 'My Porsche' app saying there was an error. I can see from the forum a lot of people had issues with it, it does appear to be working today though.

I can't see many people getting this message though. Could it be to do with that we are the second owners of this car, and the previous owners are still somewhere tied into it on the backend?

I spoke to the Porsche Connect team and they have just opened a ticket for further investigation.

We didn't have any of this problem with the old Porsche Connect app which was used for my 991.2 911. Even though that app was old and needed a facelift, it was bulletproof!

It's ashame because apart from these software issues, it is an amazing piece of kit, lovely to drive and lovely to look at even if its not working. I hope Porsche can hire some of Tesla's software team!!

Just wondering if anyone else can comment on this who has recently acquired a Taycan. Before anyone mentions that the dealer should have sorted this - they tried a few times on handover, but because I was pushed for time, and my 3 year old was jumping around, I told them I would try myself later, and report back to them if it still isn't fixed.

Lastly, when CarPlay is configured and active, does the car use the phones mobile connection or still use its internal sim card? For things like its own navigation, internet radio etc?

for CarPlay, your phone is used…but you can link Apple account with your car, so you can use AppleMusic without your phone (it’s little bit slower, so i prefer to use my phone).

and - congrats on your new car… Taycan is an amazing machine, while software sucks

speaking about old (Connect) and new (MyPorsche) app: there are two other threads where se are talking about… .and - yes, for some areas, something went wrong weeks ago, and both apps do not work as should.

I had the same problem but ultimately it required a trip back to the dealer to fix, it was entirely software related and was fixed about about 2 hours.

What you can try in mean time is to delete the car from your myporsche account and try to register it again. Sounds like you have connection but maybe car is not registered to the porsche server.

I have a similar issue! Took delivery of a CT Turbo S last Thursday at PEC LA and haven't been able to connect my Porsche account! The SOS light is green as well. Sounds like I need to make a trip to the dealer.

Clearly hindsight talking, sorry, but the dealer should have set it up with you before letting it out of the showroom. Mine did after a short squeaky bum moment.

IMO, the system is not working.
It's not down, since I (we) can login, I can see my car's WIN and data from the beginning, but data have been updated last time on Sunday, July 24.

I believe that dealers can't do anything right now... we have to wait until they'll fix the problem, wordlwide.

Hi all

Just to give you an update, that around a week after having this car I got the problem fixed.

As well as making the dealer aware of the problem (who tried everything in their power to fix it) I rang the Porsche Connect team up. They raised a case number with my VIN and sent to Porsche Germany.

I received an email from the Porsche connect team two days later with the following:

“I hope you are well and having a good week.

I have received feedback from the expert Connect team in Porsche AG Germany that the issue should be resolved via a fix at the backend.

Could you please retest logging into your vehicle and if this is unsuccessful then please share additional screenshots to demonstrate this”

I immediately tried re-logging in and it worked first time.

Just to add there was nothing done on the car at all. I didn’t even try deleting the car on Porsche Connect and re-adding it. It was all done on their side.

My dealer has booked me in for a software update (the one rolling out this month with the colourful icons) so hopefully this brings more improvements next week.

The Porsche Connect team in the U.K. contact number is: 0808 168 5219 for anyone that needs it

Great to hear there is a solution! I've asked my dealer to contact the Porsche Connect team on my behalf. Getting really tired of the guest/privacy mode prompts every start-up.

I just called 1-800-PORSCHE and supposedly there's a campaign for updating the network module on my car to VR19.0.1. Strange since I picked up the car last Thursday. Ah well, off to the dealer!

Neither the Connect app nor the My Porsche app would connect to my Taycan, starting about 2 weeks ago. I contacted support. They noted that Connect is being retired and replaced by My Porsche, however the app was not working for many owners. They suggested using the browser to connect with My Porsche. It worked. Not convenient but at least I can communicate with the car.

There is a recognised issue at the moment affecting some Taycans including my own a Dec2020 build. See:

I can't log in with either the Myporsche app nor on my pc for the last several weeks. Not really a problem unless I need to charge away from home, in which case they will need to trailer my car as the damned plug and charge has never worked even tho the dealer says it checks out ok. PITA but I still love the car!
Dealer appt next week for the ana6 et al so maybe they can fix it all at one time lol.

Yeah my dealer told me I need to have the WNK1 update applied (the new PCM update) first. Hopefully that will resolve my connectivity issues.

Hi all. Got my software update done today 'Update to software network VR19.0.1. Campaign number WNJ8'

I've had a quick play around with it - can't report any bugs as of yet which is a good thing, Porsche Connect seems to be working fine too.

The icons don't look as 'garish' as I thought they would. I can see another thread regarding the update so I will report more details there.

One strange thing I have noticed is I have lost access to 'Comfort access'. The car I have wasn't actually spec'd with this, but I did notice that if I came close to the car while it was unlocked, the door handles would present themselves without me pressing any buttons. There are similar threads on here about this happening with non-comfort access cars which show similar behaviour after certain updates. You couldn't lock the car however by pressing on the sensor on the handle, presumably because this hadn't been fitted.

Maybe it was a bug which they have now closed down? I'm not sure if i'm happy or sad about losing this as to me it did seem like a security concern due to the many relay thefts that happen in the UK, but at the same time it was a nice feature to have without having to fumble around for the keys when you get to the car.

Glad to see your Connect issue has been resolved. I hope to get my car back tomorrow following the same update. Have already noted a green connection on My Porsche app which is promising.
