I happen to often park in my garage with the suspension Smart Lifted relative to Normal driving mode, so I was confident it wouldn’t spontaneously drop in the way Gravel Mode is forgotten after powering off. Even then, I’d go for drive-through or side-on if the alternative were available.
It has always been possible to add an EVSE location as a destination or stopover. For this to work certain criteria must be met: EVSE >= 50kw DC and listed in the PCM or via an online search as an EVSE..
The number of networks recognized by US spec PCM is pretty limited.
I never know when it will or will not lower, while parking or while driving. I noticed that automatic lifting is tied to driving mode, so if I memorize an auto-lift in Normal mode, but I drive in Sport Plus, auto-raise suspension does not kick in (too much of a stretch for Porsche engineers to conclude that if the car needs to be lifted to clear an obstacle in Normal, it should also be lifted in Sport Plus?). Not only that, if auto-lift engages from memory, but you switch driving mode right after, car is lowered back down. However, when I lift it coming into a parking lot in Sport, then park the car while high, then come back, car starts in Normal but still high, at least when parked short term, have not verified more than few minutes. But now here is the confusion, say I memorize it in Sport coming into the parking lot, car wakes up in Normal still lifted, if I switch to Sport will it lower? Will it move the memorized lift point to Sport? Porsche UX is so disjointed and unintuitive. Once again, thinking back to all cars I ever had, Tesla got it brain dead simple to use - auto lift is not tied to driving mode, only to GPS coordinates. Car only lowers when going above certain speed threshold of when you manually lower it, so if you park it, it will stay that way, even if you switch modes when you get back into the car (which with Porsche I always do, since it always goes into Normal, rather than stay in mode I came in - which would also have been the simple, intuitive, solution, but I guess simple and intuitive is not the Porsche way).
What is that 12,000 counting? Plugs or supercharger locations? Or is this just a predicted number of V3 or V4 stalls by the end of 2025, assuming some Tesla expansion rate (2023 year to year was 33% increase in plugs, so assuming at least that for the next 2 years?)?
I’ve parked in lift mode multiple times and the car stays lifted until after it drive away. I push the button to lower the car but I assume it would automatically lower after I hit a certain speed. I’m not worried about the car lowering itself while parked (for a short period of time) at all. I use this method at EA stations since the cable is so unwieldy.
What happens if you park lifted and first thing after starting the car you change the drive mode to say Sport? Does the car still say lifted? Changing drive modes when I get into the Taycan has become a habit, since Porsche neglected to implement saving last drive mode.
I don’t know. I’ve never tried that. I do know that when I park in gravel mode the car automatically reverts to normal but the suspension stays set to high even though I have lowered suspension set in normal mode. I have to go back into the pcm and change the suspension to lowered again manually (although I’ve never tried to just leave it until I’ve hit normal driving speeds).
I can help you with the latter, the car will lower after reaching whatever the max speed the high mode is limited under. I usually leave it lifted, as typically I need to exist whatever driveway or parking lot I needed the lift to enter, the car just lowers itself. I am 90% sure however that when I switch driving modes after getting into the car, it lowers immediately. I remember hitting the front lip existing a parking lot once, which I know I lifted the car to get into, so the only thing I could think of was I instinctually changed the drive mode to SPORT as I got into the car, not considering that it would lower the suspension.

I decided to go back out to Fort Worth after work - this time with a healthy SoC to get me anywhere (including back home) if needed.
I specifically used the exact same stall I attempted yesterday.
I have to say I came away extremely impressed.
It. Worked. Flawlessly.
Managing the app and starting the charge was simple.
The dock was easy to handle.
Even the charging itself started faster, ran quieter and with less drama than an EA charge.
If I were road tripping, I would rather pay for these Superchargers than use EA's for free.
That being said, there -are- a couple things that could be improved.
- The cables are very short. I was able to use a trailer pull-through spot that worked perfectly, but if that wasn't there I would have had to straddle two spots to make it reach.
- Porsche's GPS seems to have no knowledge of these chargers, so I wasn't able to precondition the battery. My SoC was too high for a full-speed charge anyway so it wasn't a deal breaker, and I still got 106kW proving my 150kW/400V upgrade is working.
Use the online Google search within PCM as it may find more.
I visited this site to inquire about the number of Supercharger locations with a status of Under Construction or Permitted. 500+ sites are shown on the USA map, but only two of the 188 sites (Phoenix, Denver) under construction have CCS capability. It's hard to believe that Tesla would not equip newly contructed sites with MagicDock.
