Hi everyone. I have been trying to unlock the car manually by instructions through good to know app and agero tip sheet posted by someone on the forum. Unfortunately I have failed. Most probably I’m doing something wrong. I have made a video of me trying to open the car but to no avail. Kindly some one in this forum try opening the car manually and posting a video of the process. It seems simple but somewhere I’m making a mistake .
I have tried to open another Taycan with its emergency key and that also has not worked. Can’t be a coincidence that both mechanism are faulty.99.9 percent I’m wrong or doing something wrong

I just turned it anti-clockwise and let it stay where it stopped then opened the door. No need to turn it back and remove the key (I think you just locked it again by doing so)

I’ll try your method now but the app says

Haha, who knew the receiver of the doors is located at the top right rear window! :)

Although the key looks symmetrical mine only works one way round.

Also, point 4. above might be relevant. It feels like you’ve turned it as far as it goes but there’s more to be had.

Does anybody know why the 12v battery isn’t kept charged by the main battery? I’d much rather find I’d lost a few miles range than not be able to get in the car without all of this rigmarole.

Thank you for this thread. It prompted me to try unlocking the door with the key.
What I learned:
-it takes a flat-head screwdriver to remove the key from the fob.
-The dark "holes" at the forward end under the door handle are not for the key. The key hole is at the rear end of the handle.
- The key only goes in with the "round/outer" side up.
- Turn the key counter-clockwise (about 90 degrees) till it seems to stop, and then turn it a bit more.
- The alarm system came on right after I opened the door. I shut it off with unlock button on the key fob. (I did not know how to switch alarm off by pressing power switch on instrument panel,)

@Freakzilla9 Watching your video, it appears you are turning the key 90 degrees until it "meets initial resistance", but you are not "then firmly turning it further as far as it will go."
Good luck.
