even when hard braking regen definitely contributes a lot. I can tell, the car feels much better at braking than it did during the first few days of driving. I had the same concern as you and felt much better once Regen started working

Thanks for this. I understand better now. I bet my brakes were a bit unevenly bedded (or should I say unevenly unbedded). Speeding and braking hard was literally the first thing I did, as soon as I took off from the dealership. I bet they will feel better when I drive the car tomorrow and even better once regen kicks in.

Soooo I got 20% tint on back and side windows. These are barely illegal in my town, . What are you all doing?

Also I did the PPF rocker kit, front hood, bumper, side mirrors. but no A pillars, ceramic coating including interior. My car has been in the PPF shop since right after delivery last Wednesday 5/10. ?

I have 20% tint(front and back) on my tesla performance y now and plan to do the same when my CT4 gets here next month. The legal limit in CA is 70% in the front and no limit in the rear. Knock on wood, i've not gotten any tickets for tints.

Neither of my previous Teslas had Tint or PPF. ?. The guy at the shop told me darker would make the car look better on my Chalk car, and told me 20% was a good number. So I shrugged my shoulders and said ... alright.

I never thought a car would look better with any tint. But someone said it will hide all the business of the internal cabin and look way better. So I am looking forward to my second reveal tomorrow.

Manual Steering Column Adjustment.

So although I have lived in this Forum and read as much as possible. I feel like I also lived under a rock. It was not until delivery last week when My SA sits next to me to explain stuff about my car that I realized my $168k Porsche Taycan 4S has a manual steering column adjuster. You know like a Honda civic or Toyota corolla from the 90s. Like my college year cars.

My car was ordered and contract singed December 2022. and shortly after I sent my final configuration using the configuration version at the time. Nowhere did it say I was getting a 1996 corolla steering column.

When I go into my profile for my car > all technical data > Other ... is says Electric Steering Column. (sent a picture to my SA who has been nothing but awesome, so lets see what happens)

I paid for the 14 way seat adjust with memory. Memory for what? the seat settings I guess. So My wife who is half my size can create a useless profile that wont let me get in the car if she drives it unless I manually adjust the column while standing outside the car.

Is there any one waiting for a 4S or base trim that does not know they are getting a 90s corolla steering column?. I was up last night reading all the threads I had missed about the chip shortage and the $1k that no one has been paid as refund for having the stupid manual adjust column.

I suspect the most recent configurator from maybe 2 months ago clearly states 4s and taycan based models are getting a toyota corolla steering column. But this was not the case when I ordered the car in December. I am curious of others on this same boat.

well documented on this forum due to chip shortages. Only GTS and above get power steering wheel adjustment. I do recall it obscurely mentioned in the post for14 way seats.

Is this screen capture from today, or from December 2022/previous configurator?
I am aware they made clear in the latest configurator with that note at the end. That is what I mentioned in my post last paragraph.

I think there is a gap between when people used the previous configurator and placed the order, to when they clearly stated in the new configurator as shown in your picture. So Depending on when you ordered you car you may even have the specs stating you have electric steering column (my case) and a car delivered without it.

Since yours is clearly listed then yes yours was meant to have it. I know PCNA were giving out $$$$ to people to "refund" them since the electronic steering column wasn't included. But this was all circa 2021/2022. Hard to believe this was still an issue today. If its listed then i'd escalate and push for some kinda compensation.

I sent that picture and my SA said, lets see what we can do. Sooo we will see I am making a list of all easy things I can get, easiest is to get some software stuff I hadn't click on yet.

I am also shocked that this seems like not a big deal to some people.

It's a nice to have, sure. But the car is enjoyable in so many other regards that is a feature that is hardly used that big of a deal? (at least for me). i adjust my steering wheel column once, but im the only one who drives my cars. Dont think i ever touch it or adjust but maybe once every year or so.

So, I was all ready to collect my car tomorrow - money all paid, insurance sorted etc.

Then at around 7pm my mobile rings and I see the number of my OPC - I think to myself ‘this can’t be good’.

The technician on the other end of the phone informs me that Porsche has announced a ‘stop sale’, and as such, I’m no longer able to collect my car tomorrow morning, as originally planned.

He couldn’t be more apologetic, and it’s clearly out of his hands, but to say I’m disappointed is an understatement - has anyone else due to collect tomorrow, had the same message?

They have offered me a car in the interim (I guess now they have my money they need to do something like this), so when I go and collect it tomorrow I will at least be able to see my car!

Anyone else in a similar situation?!
