Hi, I’m new here, just bought a 2020 Taycan 4S. I have everything up and running now, including driver, profiles etc, this forum was really useful for information so thank you everybody for that. There’s also some great videos on YouTube. I only have one question (at the moment at least). When I lock the car using the key fob, the mirrors folding, and I have that set on the in-car menu. However, if I tried to lock my car using the Porsche app, it looks fine, but the mirrors do not fold. Is this normal? I can’t find any settings to change this, Buddy would be really useful if they did fold. If I unlock the car using the phone, the mirrors do fold out.

Interesting - seems this is either a bug or Porsche do not want to enable it for some reason?

Same as well (not folding). Would not be suprised if Porsche overlooked this behavior in the code :)

Probably the same reason the trunk closing with foot and from inside beeps like a trash truck reversing while closing it with the buttons is silent: paranoid security.

Porsche Engineers probably assume you're not in line of sight with the car hence it's possible someone is leaning over the door and could crush/hurt their arm if it was positioned between the mirror and the car door.

Obviously the pressure and force of the folding mirrors could be debated at nauseum but in the end, Engineers did what mostly protects the company from sue happy owners. I heard that was a big thing in the USA.

?
Yeah, makes sense I suppose. At at most, it’s a minor inconvenience. The model 3 does it, but Tesla are a little more cavalier with this sort of thing. Cheers anyway!

Yes, this is by design.

My only reasoning for this is to make you aware that the car was either unlocked with the keyfob but no door / trunk / frunk was opened and then re-locked automatically after 45 secs OR that you unlocked / locked with the App.

It's been like this since launch 2020 - so if a bug it would have been resolved by now.

Cheers, and my comment above was supposed to say it's "only" a minor inconvenience at most. It would be nice to have the option, but like you've all said, Porsche have their reasons for doing it. Cheers for all the quick replies everyone.

Same thing. Only ever fold when I lock from the key fob, the touch sensors on the doors or the button in the truck/boot lid. No idea why the remote lock is different.

I also find this to be annoying ? At a minimum I'd like to be provided the choice when locking the car; the absence of this behavior seems more like a bug as a result.

Anyone know someone at Porsche to get it added to the phone as an option?? :CWL:
