Posting for informational purposes. Here is last year's update: 3 Year Update

No issues during the fourth year. At 30,000 miles now.

Went to 4 year service. $1,400 after coupons. At the dealer from Thursday to Monday. They also did all the recalls/campaigns so it is all caught up.

I got a 96 month / 60,000 service contract. It drives exactly the same as the day I first got it. Not a fan of J1.2 so we'll see what is available in a few years. Nothing else I would rather be driving.

Other fun fact. Cost of ownership. Compared to a Panamera (maybe, because I have never owned one so made a bunch of assumptions).

Panamera
Service every 10,000 miles x 4 = $1,400 x 4 = $5,600.00
Fuel: 30,000 miles @ 21mpg @ $4.25 per gallon = ~$6,000
TOTAL: $11,600

Taycan
Service every 20,000 miles x 2 (but the first one ended up being free because of the recall and the $600 voucher we got. = $1,400
Electricity: I have solar panels so my blended cost is $0.23 per kWh , 30,000 miles @ 2.5miles per kwh = $2,760
Tires: $2,500 (assuming they would last longer on Panamera?)
TOTAL: $6,660

"Savings": $4,940 .... I knew it was a good financial decision 😀

I loved my 4S but couldn't stomach the £1000 a month depreciation I was experiencing ,even though it was 4 years old when I purchased from Porsche Man Dealer. Have gone back to ICE in shape of Macan 2.0T but do miss the instant power and drive of the Taycan. Would have another Taycan if I wasn't now retired but cannot justify excessive deprecation or high monthly payments id PCP taken out.

Having owned a Pan 4S ST and now a 4S CT, I would say the cost of ownership over time might be similar when the depreciation is factored in. Both are excellent vehicles and fun to drive.

Depreciation on a Porsche (or any luxury performance) Sedan/SUV... You got to pay to play, but nothing else compares.

Panamera service interval is the same as the Taycan (or any Porsche) - every 2 years or 20K miles.

Tyres - depending on type but I got 18K on mine.

Fuel economy is also better but will depend a lot on which engine. 4S v6 26mpg and a hybrid considerably more.

Then there's the purchase price.

Tayxan will / should work out cheaper to run particularly if home charging is the main source of juice.

The depreciation cost is only realized when you sell the car so I look at this as a long term rental cost to drive the car you want. There's no way the ownership cost could financially make sense when comparing to ICE.

Speaking about 4 years, today (June 11, 2026) is the four-year anniversary of taking delivery on my 2022 RWD. It's been the best four years and 39,000 miles of driving I've ever experienced.

My repair/service expenses (in US dollars) are shown below. Items like registration, insurance, Porsche Connect, Porsche trinkets, and DC charging (I have solar panels and charge at home nearly all the time during peak sunlight hours) are excluded.

For those of you digging in the details, the 2024 alignment at Porsche Chandler was $1,800 while the 2026 alignment at Porsche Arrowhead was $700. Go figure... Also, one of the rear tires replaced in 2026 had a nail and was covered under warranty.

Here's my latest guess-o-meter chart. My dealer (Porsche Arrowhead) charged the car to 100% a couple of months ago, and the guess-o-meter showed 297 miles in NORMAL mode with the A/C running with 37,524 miles. I've got over 300 datapoints here, and the chart is starting to get crowded.

Here's to many more years of fun driving!

I realize my depreciation every time I see a Taycan thread somewhere along the lines of, "Bought my dream car! 20k miles CPO 80k."
