Entirely personal opinion but dislike anything that 'grabs' the leather on console or anywhere else - still love the 'OEM' look (imo but biased!) of my modded Porsche Ashtray and cupholder, w/ring lights all visible - fully working mag charger and retains useful storage for keys etc - all-in-one solution and entirely removable/reversible in seconds or if you just need to use the cupholder for original purpose.

Entirely appreciate this is purely a phone holder/charger more user friendly than the console cubby and not for those who interact with their phones in the car i.e perfect for my use :)

Here's my take. Similar to others. But 3D scanned the console to get the exact profile, then printed so that the phone would be slightly angled. Tried to make it look a little cleaner. Will experiment some more if I can find a charger with a lead that isn't straight out.

Have Porsche black specific paint coming to paint match later on.

How did you attach the mount to the console?

I would need your email. I am not sure how to get STL.zip to you from my iPad.
Hey Rango,

I'm wondering if you got the part printed yet?

I just got it printed and there seems to be some issue with the size of it, unless I'm doing something wrong. The height is too great, such that the bottom of the mount does not clip onto the console. Also, the width is also too large.... have a look at the photos below. (yes, I need to dust my interior)

The size that seemed to work best is 92mm.
I just realized that by turning over the band around the insert I was able to fit the MAGSAFE insert I previously described in this thread snuggly into the front cupholder and still leave about 1/4-inch of space between the insert and the console. So I'm even happier with this insert because it fits the cupholder perfectly; it can be removed/reinserted in a couple of seconds and a real cup inserted; the black phone charge cord is very discrete; I didn't have to take apart anything; the ambient lighting circle is visible at night, although not as bright as the empty cupholder next to it.

I have to apologize to anyone following my journey to get this mount printed.
I received the printed order while recovering in the hospital for ❤ surgery.
It’s been a long journey going through recovery but I will test the part and report soon.

I just received my mount (printed for me by Shapeways.com). It came out great and fit's perfectly. I elected to mount a MagSafe charger to it. Thanks for the drawings and this incredible idea!

Jeff, I have tried twice to have this 3d printed with Shapeways. Both finished products do not fit
On my taycan. The dimensions are incorrect. I have sent files received from the forum to Cadmore for them to create a dimensioned drawing that Shapeways will use and no luck…Cadmore say’s what I send them is not to scale so they are guessing at dimensions. Would you be willing to share your drawing (Stl) file or whatever you sent to them for fabrication?

I have had 2 parts printed and both do not fit. This has turned out to be extremely frustrating. I am appealing to another forum member “blulite” for his drawing file because his part apparently fits.
I am attaching my failed attempts. The detailed and dimensioned drawing is the second part that was 3d printed and it is the wrong profile…actually too short to clip on the bottom.

Just use the original file in this thread, provided by Axdenied. It doesnt have the Porsche logo, but it fits perfectly.

I found the Axdenied file you referenced and downloaded it. I will have Cadmore designer add
the Porsche logo to it and submit to Shapeways 3d print it. This is my last
attempt! Did you take a picture of your successful installation? What
Color and type of plastic did you specify? How did you mount phone?

Glad you like it @900MT ?
And yes it does sit low and how I wanted it so that I don’t have to “squeeze” too much on the leather to hold it high (and not slide down) and risk leaving marks.

Here is my current setup and where it sits, added a custom MagSafe holder that I designed and glued to it.

I received the printed part from ShapeWays.com and it fits perfectly. I used a vent magnet and disassembled it to use just the disk (magnet and its rubber enclosure). I put a piece of metal
In my phone case and I glued the magnet to the holder. I plug my phone into a cable for charging on occasion but I’m satisfied with the phone position.
